This is really the only way to really "do" a Jane Austen tour. Phil is the only one who will take you around Steventon, where Austen grew up, socialized and went dancing. He is very knowledgeable about Austen and more besides, so that even people...More

I frequently meet Phil taking people round All Saints Church, Dummer as part of his interesting Jane Austen tour and our Visitors Book is proof that so many fans of "Jane" come from far and wide, mostly the USA. I persuaded Phil to give a...More

Many thanks! What I did not say was that Jane Austen's niece, Anna, nearly married The Rev Michael Terry, but called it off......like niece like Aunt?

Thank you Phil! Four of us had a perfect day driving around "Jane Austen country" . Very knowledgeable and special tour, ending at the museum in Chawton with the sun coming out in a beautiful garden. Definitely a highlight for our two week trip.

Many thanks for the review! If I have helped your understanding of the Georgian context and countryside I am very pleased, as that is what I aim to do!

This was an extraordinary experience and a genuinely great day. Phil's knowledge and obvious love for the history, the culture, the landscape, and the subject was infectious. I came to allow my family to get a taste of the English world that birthed Jane Austen...More

Park at the church and do the lovely 6 mile walk around the area that Jane Austin will certainly have done two centauries ago. Its a shame the house she was born in is not there but there are some beautiful sites to see. The...More

To walk in England in May is one of the best things.....to walk around countryside that has such a rich literary heritage even better. Many thanks for the review.
