A Pleasant Walk

Visited here during our stay at a nearby hotel. It was a lovely refreshing walk despite the weather.

Lovely secluded location. Lots of off route choices in the woods. Lots of free car parking. While area is good for all the family, walking, running or biking.

an easy pleasant walk up the "Wrekin", it peaks at 1335ft above sea level with splendid views over Telford, Wellington, Shrewsbury and far in the distance Buttington "The Gateway To Wales. Obviously it has some inclines but it only takes 1hr to reach the summit at a steady pace (I`m 61 and my friend 67) after coming down we went... More

If you don't mind a bit of dog poo then climbing this historic peak will test anyone's fitness. Facilities are ok if the half way house is open. Bring boots in wetter weather and water.

Whatever the time of year or the weather (although if it is wet you should expect very muddy boots!) this is a great place for a pretty challenging walk. The gradient of the path that zig-zags to the summit is pretty steep - but suitable for all at different paces. Plus, there are paths round the Wrekin and through the... More

This took us about 45 minutes each way, when we went it was very icy on the floor though. The views were great and it's a very invigorating walk.

Was busy on the morning I visited so had to be patient finding a parking space but definitely worth the wait. Walk up not too challenging and seems suitable for the moderately fit whatever age. From the summit could see for miles in all directions. If you have a couple of spare hours whilst in the area recommend that you... More

Great way of waking up at the weekend just have a stroll up the Wrekin, usually busy at mid mornings so get there early in time for a parking spot.

I've been walking the wrekin for many years and its become popular in recent times, in fact too popular, because its not as quiet as it once was, this is showed by the amount of cars which now fill up the car parks, However its still worth a visit as its the only large hill for miles around.

Great walk up the Wrekin. Been here many times before. It's ideal for any age, families etc. Decent weather will help as its all open.
