Yes the place is not huge but big enough to spend a morning having a coffee on the lovely terrace, wandering around the delightful rose gardens and the lakeside grounds. Well maintained and very peaceful. Kids who like gardens and those who want to learn...More

Hopton Hall is just over half an hour's drive from Derby. The rose garden is only open for a few weeks in summer, so you have to check opening times. It is not a huge garden, but it is attractive and peaceful and the flowers...More

Just enjoyed my second visit to Hopton Hall Gardens. Despite the cold but sunny weather, the visit to see the snowdrops was amazing. I would recommend this visit to one and all in the snowdrop season. This is a quiet, peaceful place with beautiful grounds....More

This is a lovely garden. The drifts of snowdrops are a delight. The work being done to control the laurel is opening up the woodland area, with plenty of new growth on the laurels. The firm footpaths make it easy for most people to walk...More

Our first to Hopton Hall. The snowdrop walk was lovely. Some great displays, and gardens well maintained. Enjoyed our scones in the tea room.

We have visited this attraction on several occasions, but since adopting our dog will not be visiting again due to the no dogs policy. Surely dogs on leads should be allowed for this walk! Sorry we do not support non dog friendly placesMore

Sorry you were disappointed that we don’t allow dogs around the snowdrop walk. We really are a dog friendly bunch, it’s just that with several thousand visitors a year it really wouldn’t be that good for the grounds to admit dogs. Obviously guide dogs are...More

A crisp Sunny February day allowed us to have a stunning walk round these attractive grounds. The walk was about 45 minutes long and there were plenty of photo opportunities and obviously there would be other things to appreciate at a different season.
