Locko park was part of our morning trek, already busy on a May day due to some event happening in the grounds, lovely park with several paths to explore

We visited Locko Park as part of a longer walk around the area, it was very quite and a lovely spot for a picnic. The lake and green surroundings are very peaceful.

Live local but this was a first visit and was a last minute decision to go so probably better if more prepared but felt not very accessible on only one path to walk on that doesn't take long
Probably nice place to sit with a picnic but not if you want a long walk

Nearby great park for to attend for the daily walk as per government guidelines, beautiful on a fresh Sunday morning, only saw 5 other humans, easy social distancing.

Open garden day with the Ilkeston brass band playing, a few stalls selling bits and bobs and a cream tea stall to rest at after walking around the garden. The small chapel was open and we spent a good couple of hours enjoying walking/sitting in the garden.

Locko Park is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Derby, easily missed if you were driving past on the sharp countryside road corner, park up, go for a walk in beautiful well maintain park and enjoy nature.

Lovely grounds! Flowers were all out in bloom so it made a gloomy day still a beautiful one! The lake was lovely to stroll around and the house itself was stunning! Unfortunately I never saw the inside of the estate so I can only imagine how wonderful that would be!

A lovely place to have a stroll around with it's great lake and woodland this is a fantastic place to see some great wildlife including the deer if your look is in . The walk is mainly on tarmac or head though the woods and find the cafe . Well worth a visit

This place is easily missed when leaving Spondon, but well worth a pleasant walk through the park, along the top road and back via the Kings Corner for a pit stop.

Is there just one entrance? How many parking spaces are there?
Cars seem to park only on the road near the entrance
Does it have a cafe

It is dog friendly, as long litter and refuse is taken home/away this is a perfect place to walk your dog

I would like to visit the park with my daughter , we would be using public transport. I have looked at access by bus and it states to get the y3 then walk from Bartlewood lodge, Anyone know if there is a pavement to walk up to the park ? Thanks

Yes get the bus to derby town then get the blue route spondon flyer bay 8 in the bus station as for the locko road stop and you can walk from there. Tell them you want near the cricket club, walk past the cricket club and your there really. And just walk close to the hedges like I said a lot of dog walkers and bike rides so you should be ok. I always walked down there with no problems. It's really nice there to hope you have a great time x
