We visited on a fairly cold day so it was quiet. The tea bar was closed and out of season we haven't noticed it open much but that seems fair enough. Just a nice destination for a gentle walk. The paths mean its good for young kids too

Went for what we thought would be a casual walk - it looks like it's a piece of property that, in years gone by has had some association with local aristocracy and someone has bought it with the idea of it becoming a local attraction. It doesn't work, yes, it has got a few rocks that are clearly very very... More

Went dog walking in January, car park was expensive for a mid week visit. But good pathways and great views, wellingtons or strong boots required. Tea rooms closed most of the winter, apparently open Sunday .

Having been brought up in Harrogate this was one place we as a family visited regularly for picnics. It's a great place for kids to run wild and try simple climbing ( lots of rocks that have a difficult looking side but a few well placed 'foot holds' on the other side). Stunning views in all seasons. There is also... More

Really interesting rock formations, very misty on our visit, so only a few visitors there, has a small visitors centre.

We were there at the beginning of January and in the gloom of winter the fantastic shapes of the rocks were very atmospheric. It looks like a great place for kids to run around and climb over the rocks, while the more serious could embark on interesting walks. The car park is free for National Trust members, but best of... This is a great place to take kids as they can run around and really let there hair down. suitable for all ages , fantastic views of the Yorkshire county side , there is a good shop and a place to buy drinks etc. The car park is £ 5.00 per car, which covers all those in it.Last came here... More

Visited for a Christmas walk. Beautiful scenery, free for National Trust members. Lovely views & bracing wind which definitely blew the cobwebs away! Dogs on leads welcomed.

If you ignore the excessive £5 car parking charge for non NT members for parking the car for up to 4hrs, this is a super trip. Does help if you have a lovely clear day. One good track, accessible to all to the teashop(no inside seating) serving drinks and some hot food with lots of benches outside with great views.... More
