I run a section of this from Kent Road through Birk Crag up to Harlow Carr regularly. It is a lovely woodland stretch which is so peaceful - you can't believe you are so close to town. Great long distance views from the top of the crag, obscured a bit by trees at the moment. Chances are you won't meet... More

This really is a great walk, and can be done in sections, as well as in one go. It's easily accessible by public transport, and the terrain is very varied. It's been extremely quiet whenever I've walked it, and it's hard to believe you're so close to Harrogate and Leeds. I'm not complaining, but it deserves to be more popular.

It varies, as some is by a very very busy road, but in general I found this a good beginning for other nearby walks.

Having done this twice and various elements many times over it is a worthwhile challenge. A tough ask in an entire day but have done it easily in two with children. A couple of major roads to cross but nothing too bad. Not too many hills - a bit out of Knaresborough. Highlights - the bit around Pannal, going under... More

A walk of about 20 miles round Harrogate. We did it in sections and thoroughly enjoyed very minute. You certainly get a much better appreciation of the picturesque countryside around Harrogate.

I too a walk along this and it was spoilt by people on bikes, doubtless most of the en-lycred ones are harmless enough, unless you are un-reasonably upset by the sight of rather to much flesh stuffed into to tight a cladding, but there are enough of them quite happy to try make you jump and hurry out of their... Love it. As a walker, often dip in and out of the Ringway. The whole Ringway is 20 miles but you can pick and choose where you want to join in and how long you want to walk. It's a varied, and well-marked public footpath, which takes you through interesting aspects of the surburban areas of Harrogate as well as... More

Welcome to beautiful Harrogate. The Pinewoods, Valley Gardens and Harlow Carr Gardens offer wildlife and views to die for. With Bettys restaurant for scrumptious food and fantastic views from Crag Lane over rolling hills, the walks here are stunning. I live on Harlow Hill and never tire of the diverse weather conditions and great Yorkshire views. The nature is really the... More

Great way (if you like walking) to get around Harrogate and Knaresborough but some improvement in direction signs required in places.
