Hollywood Horse and Pony Trekking tour was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. My friend and I are experienced equestrians and wanted to experience a bit of Ireland on horseback. We are so happy we chose Hollywood Horse and Pony Trekking! With Ray’s guidance, we traversed the beautiful country side of Wicklow and even received a wonderful polo lesson. Ray was the perfect guide on the trek, keeping the ride light hearted and fun. We both had always wanted to take a polo lesson so it was the cherry on top to a perfect day. Both of our horses very well mannered and excellently trained; neck reined like a dream and responded to all of our cues. We liked the adventure so much that we came back a second day!

I booked myself and friends in for a 1hr trekk, we had a great time, the staff are brilliant, relaxed and full of chat, really put us at ease - with their friendliness and knowledge of the area and their animals, the whole experience was just brilliant.
The horses are extremely well kept and have a wonderful temperament, which means you can sit (up straight shoulders back lol) and enjoy all the incredible views Wicklow has to offer and enjoy great company as well 😀
Thank you Caroline, Ray, Mick, Aisling & all the Maguire girls.
Keep up the great work 😊

Really enjoyed our 90 minute Trek. We were a group of 4, 3 of us experienced. All of us were very well catered for & we hope to be back regularly. The horses look very well looked after & clean. They know their job well. Ray was a great guide. Would highly recommend this Trekking Yard for beginners & experienced alike. We hope to be back very soon.

Hollywood horse and pony trekking is an absolute must. Riding in the Wicklow mountains through forests and rivers, it is breathtaking. The National Park is protected and is an area of outstanding beauty. Ray and his team are amazing guides and are at one with their horses. A truely enriching experience and actually incredibly relaxing to get away from day to day craziness. I was lucky enough to see the most beautiful stag on my trek, do bring a phone that takes pictures or a small camera.

Its a bit out of the way and not that well signposted but when you do find it, it's well worth it. We prebooked for a group of 12 of varying ability. Ray picks each horse to suit the rider and spent some time giving us basic instruction before bringing us on our trek through the national park and finishing up with a walk along a river. We had a 4 yr old who was too small to go on the trek but she was looked after by Aisling who took her on a pony ride and allowed her to groom the pony as well. We would highly recommend it as a family day out.

My friend and I we were there today for a 1.5h horse hacking and it was one of the best hacking I have ever done. I will never forget walking through the river and trotting there too. Lovely instructors/owners, very good horses - my one was Romeo, all are very welcome as even someone who has never ridden a horse will be able to enjoy hacking under a very good care of the experienced instructors. I will come back for sure!

From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, I was taken in by this fabulous experience. As an inexperienced rider, I was made to feel so comfortable and safe. The nerves never got a chance to surface. I was taken care of every second of every minute. My 7 year old son was also with me and was lead on our trek by one of the ladies. He was taken care of so much and was given great encouragement that he went with a lead rode towards the end of the trek. The lady stayed beside me just incase he needed help. The level of professionalism and care is second to none. They showed us their dedication to their work through their actions. They encouraged us to let the horse be the horse. So we could see how gentle they were and how safe we were in their hands.
The scenery is just breath taking. The treks are stunning and the horses are so friendly. As too are all the staff. It's extremely good value for money. This is my new found love. One that I do find myself enjoying immensely. If I could mould myself into the place I would. Just so I could experience what I experienced every day.

As three beginners we were a bit nervous before we went on our horse trek through the Wicklow mountains but we didn't have to worry at all. Ray took fantastic care of us & our horses were all lovely & very steady. Ray supplied hats, boots & body protectors, the scenery was absolutely beautiful, we went through the hills, through a river & had an amazing time. It took about an hour to drive from Dublin City, put Granamore in the satnav & it brought us straight there, definitely recommended 😀

Hi my daughter has always wanted to do this (she’s 8) but I know she’d be really nervous. Would this be suitable, or is there another smaller trek option for her that we could do? Thanks

Hi there!
I have a few questions regarding the half day ride outs.
Can novice/beginner riders take them?
What is the duration and time for this ride? (I’m guessing it takes place in the morning but I’d like to know at what time exactly)
And lastly, are there still slots available for this ride this Sunday the 17th?
Thank you!

Would a 4 year old be too young to have her first experience on a horse?
Written 30 March 2017
At that age we take for a short pony ride along by the river. there would be one person leading and one holding the child.
Thanks Ray

Hello,
I would like to book a 3 hour trek with you for June 1st, 2017. What time does it start? Does the 3 hours include getting saddled and introduction? Is there any extra fees for gear? How do I go about booking for 2 adults and 1 child and securing a driver from the bus station?
Thank you!
Written 14 March 2017
Hi,
First treks usually go out at 11am.
The time includes 3 hours of trekking. We provided all required gear for no extra fees.
There is no public transport to our yard so you would have to organise to hire a car or book a taxi.
The most direct way to book is by phone (00353 85 1117448) or through Facebook messenger.
Thank you for you're enquiry!
Ray
