Guided tour of the house which was excellent and informative. There were only 6 on the tour so it felt very private. The guide gave us lots of information, just enough to keep you interested with good personal insights. One hour long which was sufficient....More

Russborough is better preserved, has a lot more of its contents kept in the house and on view. Go to both, take the tours but if you can only get to 1, I would go to Russborough.

When we visited the beautiful grounds in April we did see people walking their dogs on a lead.
