- buttercup_tsTullahoma, Tennessee1,062 contributionsCoastal ViewingBeautiful area to go and relax. Beautiful views with many stopping areas. Parking - There is several dedicated parking lots that are paved and easily accessible. Many entry points to the beach or up to Bowmore Head Battery which you can see all the way down the coastline.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 January 2024
- Ellen McAVoy10 contributionsPerfect vacation spotWe stayed at a great Airbnb on the water (next to Harry's pub), my husband and son golfed at the amazingly beautiful course up the street, I walked the coastal trail and explored the cliffs and beaches. This was such an amazing place to stay, the trails were well marked and had little boards explaining the plants & animals along the path and giving the history of the buildings, ruins, and islands you could see. Ocean/mountain/farms to look at - just gorgeous in every direction!Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 7 April 2024

- ajsreview2017Royal Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom116 contributionsGreat for a walk and views of the sunsetWent in the evening and we had a really great walk on the beach. Good long expanse of sandy beach to walk along - wasn't busy. Great views of the sunset over the sea. Parking was easy.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 22 August 2024

Something wildly romantic about Rosses Point. The sky was a fascinating ever changing landscape in itself whilst we were there, as was the sea. Watching the hardy junior sailors in the World Championship at the Sligo Yacht Club was wonderful, so independent and capable.

So I went here with my son and soon you be ex wife, we decided to give the infamous and well established sperm whale riding experience a go as I felt it would be enjoyable for myself and my son while my soon to be ex wife watched us from the horizon. As it turns out this was all a practical joke which was played on me by The locals. I arrived with my flippers and enormous snorkel ready to rock with the pesky misfit I have the pleasure of calling my offspring and was disappointed to find out that it was hoax. I then decided to just leave both my son and now ex wife behind and go on an all out booze cruise consisting of me, myself and I along with a boat load of cans and my sea kayak which I thankfully brought with me unlike my trip to Strandhill (more on that later). On my travels I saw many fascinating things such as a lobster or a crab I’m not really sure which is which and some sea weed. I got lost for a number of hours as in my drunken state I capsized and the large amount of salt water in my eyes simply blinded me. As I sat on a lonely rock a couple paddles away from the shore I pondered on my failed adventure. Why am I here, why is this water so salty and why do all the locals swim fully nude. In essence I had a good time besides the divorce and I think I may come back again

Where do I start? The booking system is very poor for group bookings. The staff are unhelpful when approached for support with the ridiculously complicated booking system. The topography of the land is not clearly marked on the website. There are bright lights illuminating the site making it difficult to sleep or see the night sky. There is also CCTV watching everything but this is not mentioned in any T&C’s. Yet they are not responsible for anything that happens to you on site. Basically, it’s Belsen by the sea. Avoid unless you really have to!

Stunning, awesome and a golf course in perfect condition, just been back to Sligo for a golfing trip and played Co Sligo golf course last Tuesday. The course is immaculate, perfect condition for this time of the year. For anyone or any golfing group that fancy a golf trip, well it's a no brainer, Co Sligo is a huge must visit, especially with the awesome treatment and welcome from the governor, David O'Donavon, Gerry Fox from the pro shop and Kim Kennedy from the upstairs restaurant.
We were a group of 8, and it was a huge pleasure to re visit Co Sligo golf course again.
Many thanks to everyone for a fantastic golf day.

It was 8 km out of sligo, but well worth the run along to see the lady who has her hands held out waiting on the arrival of the fishermen returning from the sea. The lifeboat station next to the monument overlooks Oyster Island. As you go further round it is a lovely beach, which is part of a blue flag. Overlooked by a lifeguard station, though i would think this would only be manned in the summer months. The whole area appeared to be clean, and the locals took a pride in this area. This is part of the Wild Atlantic Way trail.

Went for a walk on the beautiful beach in December. The view of the mountains in the background and the sea to the forefront makes the spot idyllic. It helps that my boyfriend proposed to me on the beach that day but even still, I highly recommend it.

You must try the fish and bean cafe sited in the yacht club. Fresh food cooked nicely and great service. Just opened in June 21 and good luck to them. Great job

Beautiful beach in Rosses point with a stunning view of Benbulbin. Plenty of accommodation and places to drink and eat along the coast road leading up to the beach itself. Full of life and well worth visiting for a swim, walk etc

How far is the beach away from the car park for someone with limited mobility

Sorry for late reply. I agree with other traveller, steep hill to beach.
