It was novel to drive across the sand to Coney Island (check the tide times!). We only had half an hour or so but found the deserted beach on the far side and enjoyed that. Definitely worth a visit.

Coney Island is located off Strandhill Co. Sligo. The island is accessible by land at low tide. Bet that you didn't know that it's more famous namesake in New York was named after this island, by a Sligo sea captain!

Beautiful place to visit, but you can only get there at low tide using the strand ( you drive out on a rocky road that is under water at high tide.) Fun experience and great view. If you are lucky the one pub may be...More
