Had a group of American over for an annual match, 28 lads, headed out to play, good course and quite difficult for the average golfer, we are a mix of low to high but all enjoyed the day

We stayed at the Helm in Westport and Vinny, the owner, organised our round again. Perfect. Sorted our clubs and buggy's and it was seamless. I also bumped into the resident pro who's keen eye spotted my clubs and had them changed to something more forgiving. Top man - it's a tough course, but incredibly beautiful. Can't wait to get... Location, location, location! A couple of miles from town, Westport golf club is a very good course in length and difficulty. It does make you think. Somewhat hilly on certain holes, you do need to pay attention where you hit the ball. Some incredible views on the back nine as it borders the shoreline. At couple of holes bring Pebble... More

We played Westport during their Open week in August 2015. The green fees were very reasonable, along with the cost of hiring a buggy. We had climbed Croagh Patrick in the morning so the buggy was a must! The club shop staff were accommodating and helpful and so were the bar staff in the club house. The course is a... More

After a busy week in Drumshanbo I had some relaxing time on the golf courses of the North West . One of the great places to do so is Westport. The first six holes might not be the most extraordinary experience but starting from hole seven (over the car park) this one gets really great. Every hole has character every... More

Golfed Westport golf course today and found it to be a wonderful course! The green fee was only $25 Euro so I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised! An excellent Parkland course with very nice smooth, fast and true greens. Many championships have been held here. Rory Mcilroy even won the 2005 Irish amateur Open at this course! I... More

Joining family and friends, who are avid golfers, even if you don't play golf yourself, is a great pleasure at Westport Golf Club. Beautiful views, a bit of a "workout", hills to climb, and of course, a pace to keep up with your group. Great exercise and spectator fun received a warm welcome from members and staff. All this makes it... More

My wife and I have rented an apartment in Westport the last 6 summers. Great town, friendly people, mighty craic. I try to fit in 3 - 4 rounds of golf during our three-week visits. One of those rounds is typically at one of the amazing links courses within an hour's drive - Carne on Belmullet, Connemara in Ballyconneely. But... More
