Medieval Attactions

Medieval walled town with all the sights within easy reach. It's the best preserved in Ireland. Well worth a stroll around

We recently came across this little museum when we stopped off at Kilmallock on the journey from Limerick to Cork. The museum guide was most welcoming and informative. Considering this is a voluntary run museum, it is kept in very good condition and has a really special collection of artefacts. The museum guide will also recommend visiting the local wonderful... This must be the smallest museum I have visited but it is crammed full of good information about the town with a leaflet pointing out the highlights to visit. An excellent place to start your visit

The museum serves best as an introduction to the historic sights of Kilmallock, all within walking distance. These historic sites include a 13th century Collegiate Church with a round tower, a 13th century Dominican Abbey, and the medieval Blossom town gate. This is an impressive example of historic preservation just 10 kilometres from the N20 Limerick- Cork Road.

If you are in to the local history of this town is very good or to spend half hour if you are here but i would not go here just to come here. It free to enter it only one room full of the town history.

I never thought I would leave abad review of a place but this is DISGRACEFUL. It is a cold damp badly organised one room collection which is not well maintained. It should not be opened to the public.
