I discovered and liked Smithwicks since I moved to Ireland and I was curious to visit the old factory. The staff is very nice and friendly and our guide Colm was very enthusiastic and informative, telling us about the history of the brand and the city and the link of many families in Kilkenny with the brewery. It's really central... More

This is a really cool place, a lot of history, and above all else you get a pint of Smithwick's at the end of the tour! I've been twice, and intend to go again!

Our family of three enjoyed the tour of Smithwicks. The tour was very interesting and detailed. One can learn a great deal about the family and how the brewery grew over time. At the end of the tour, one can sit and enjoy a pint of your choice of Smithwicks. The only drawback, is the area where you sit to... More

I thought this was a really excellent tour, with clever use of technology to give a real flavour of the paste. This is a must for all beer lovers out there

Having been a smithwicks drinker for 25 years i have always wanted to do this tour, was not disappointed. The tour took about an hour and it went through the history of smithwicks ale, i found it very interesting although the wife not so much. You get a pint each at the end of the tour and as the wife doesn't... More

This is an interesting tour even if you are not interested in beer. We especially enjoyed the audio-visual parts of the tour. The technology was brilliant of the hologram monk as well as the portraits in the drawing room. We actually wished that the initial video they have everyone watch would be much longer since the Irish produce such high-quality... More

Really enjoyed the tour at smithwicks experience. I have been to the Guinness storehouse in Dublin and the Heineken experience in amsterstam and I thought this tour was right up there (on a much smaller scale) ... the history behind the smithwicks family and the brewing process was very interesting. The tour guide was incredibly humorous and kept us all... More

We were told that we should definitely stop here by friends back home. I was travelling with my adult nephew who likes beer so I wanted him to experience it. I was quite impressed by the tour but even more impressed by the beer!

The tasting was ok, but the tour was way better and more informative than at the Guinness Storehouse (it was also significantly less crowded, which helped).

I really recommend this tour! Our guide was amazing and a total history buff. So much effort has been put in to the Smithick's Experience and it is very appreciated!
