My husband and I came for the Irish Coffee tasting and had such a great time we asked to add on the whiskey tasting. Highly recommend Both! JD is such a wonderful host and knows a lot about coffee, whiskey and Kyteler's. Will definitely stop by again the next time we are in Kilkenny.

Awesome pub with interesting history. Bangers and mash are amazing. A pint of the relatively new Witches Brew is spot on in the Irish brewing favorites, perfectly balanced between a stout and a lager. A must have experience ehile in or around Kilkenny.

I am so glad to have booked this tour. Was a real highlight of our visit to Kilkenny. Everyone loved the coffee and will be trying it at home.
The owner was friendly and so entertaining. Plus the history of the Kytelers Inn makes this a must due if visiting Kilkenny.

My mom and I were with a bus tour. Royal Irish Tours. It was recommended to come check out this bar. Let’s note that comments had been made the entire tour, especially in Belfast, that Ireland is the only place in the world you can go and listen to live music without expecting to buy a drink. We went in and notice many ppl standing so assuming that it’s just like all the other places we had been in where standing room only with live music. We had listened to one whole song and we’re deciding if we were to stay. Even if we were not staying my intentions were to tip ($) the band in good spirit. A server aggressively came up to us demanding we buy a drink or get out. He then used his body to physically push me out the door way and trapped my mom in to call her rude many times over. He was shouting at us and physically assaulted me. I was scared and left very upset. This man was physical with me, a woman and extremely aggressive. I put in a complaint to our tour and he called but the coward decided not to return the call. I do not recommend here. If we were men it would have never happened like that and he would not have PUSHED me using his hands and body.

Hi Vanessa of Wainright Cannabis,
Your claims of being physically assaulted are highly exaggerated and false. The CCTV CLEARLY SHOWS NO EVIDENCE of being "physically pushed, assaulted or trapped" which happens to be a complete over exaggeration on your part.
It is extremely bad manners and etiquette to enter a place of business and to just loiter without purchase. We ask all customers for a one drink minimum purchase if they wish to enjoy the band. Your information about watching music without buying something is completely wrong and it is you that is killing the music, bar trade and the employment it provides. Your supposed tips alone will not support live entertainment and in fact you have now done more harm than good with your false claims..
We explained this to your tour guide who declined to tell you that he had spoken to us. Gordon told us that he would speak to you about your behavior. There were many conversations with Gordon from Royal Irish Tours about this issue but perhaps he failed to speak to you about it due to your combative nature.

What a great place. First, we had dinner upstairs. The food was great and the atmosphere was very nice. Then, we went down to the garden bar to listen to some fantastic traditional Irish music. Downstairs was packed and it was hard to get a seat, but it was well worth it. It is obvious why it was so crowded.

Busy place but delicious food and well worth the wait. The staff were rushing about and yet had time to be kind and cheerful. Thank goodness the noise level was down when we visited.

Went here for beer and irish music, and it delivered. Great music and busy bar with friendly partying people. Also have disco in basement and more calm areas.

It was absolutely awful. Visited here with our daughters and grandsons on a Sunday out. No problem with the staff they were friendly and efficient. The food was terrible. Ordered cajun chickens pannins which were soggy the chicken was boiled and tough as for cajun some kind of sauce was thrown over them not cajun. Chips were frozen and some not edible. 2 of us had the roast said it was nice but for the price charged it could've been a bigger portion. Will definitely not recommend or be returning, I'd say it's only the friendly staff that people go in for so kudos to them.
