There was always one thing I had to do when visiting Ireland and that was have a day at the races. Happily, the renovations at The Curragh were underway enough to afford us the chance to attend the opening event of the season. This is a racecourse with a history and the facilities once its completed will be astonishing. The... More

The Curragh Racecourse has a captive market on each of the circa 20 days in the year it opens for racing. The food is awful and is clearly priced based on the fact of it having a captive market. If there was any kind of alternative to the Curragh fare on its 20 racedays, I can guarantee that every customer... More

Went to The Curragh with our sports and social club. From arrival to departure everyone we met were so incredibly friendly and professional. The food provided was excellent and the staff in the room were amazing. I cannot fault it as a day out in anyway and would highly reccomend it for any group looking for a full day outing.

As a regular racecourse visitor, I took the opportunity to see a recent Curragh meeting with my wife and 2 friends. I was surprised how different it was to places like Newmarket which offers comparable racing but has much higher quality facilities available. We had lunch at the Champagne Bar and it was excellent We had the table all day... More

It just so happened that the manager at our hotel had a brother who was training horses at the Curragh. He connected us with passes to the course, plus we got a behind the scenes look at the trainer's point of view and got to see some truly majestic thoroughbreds. We bet the races, and even came away with some... More

This is a catwalk for pompous and decadent people in love with themselves, the rich and wannabe rich showing off their latest outfits (with racing happening in the background). One hour stuck in traffic approaching the motorway exit, mismanagement of traffic causing us and hundreds of others to miss the first race. Queued for half an hour to buy chips... More

A beautiful course set in parkland just outside Kildare, if not a little windy! As always first class Irish racing in a fab setting, which in sure will be even more enhanced when they have their makeover. Looking forward to seeing the results. We caught the shuttle bus from Kildare station, an experience which could be improved will little effort,... More

A lovely racecourse in a beautiful setting. One admission price gives you access to all areas unlike English racecourses (we are members at Newmarket but this was not a reciprocal day but we were offered a concession on entry price). Plenty of space to wander around and mooch at leisure and find a good spot to watch the racing. Some... More

When the weather is good why don't you take a trip to the curragh racecourse for a great family day out to watch the race horses or even take a walk on the beautiful curragh
