Located with the national park, the is a beautiful stretch of water that just adds to beauty of the area. Whilst visiting the historic sites/sights. we stopped at one of the many places suitable for a picnic, it was so serene and tranquil.

After a jaunty car ride to Ross Castle we took the one hour boat trip on Lough Leane which I thoroughly recommend the boat is covered so the misty cool weather didn't matter and the Lough looked beautiful the commentary from the captain is excellent.

My review covers the 3 lakes, Lough Leane, Muckross Lake and Upper Lake (only Lough Leane was available to review). Anyhow, there are areas to pull over and park along Ross Road to actually stop and visit each of the lakes. They are gorgeous (as...More

Beautiful serene lake in the middle of the Killarney National Park. Ross Castle on the banks and Red Deer roaming nearby. Incredibly peaceful location.

The lake and waterfront is very pretty and landscape varied. When viewed from the Waterbus, it was more featureless. Lots of trails along the Muckross area. Worth making a stop.
