The castle is beautifully restored and the tour is very informative. It’s amazing to think how people lived. The guide did an excellent job of explaining daily life in the castle.

We enjoyed our trip to Ross Castle. The views right off the lake, boat tours and the tour through this tower house was awesome! Definitely gives you a better perspective on how people lived in 1700-1800's.

A stop for the hop on hop off bus tour. worth about 15 minutes. The lake behind the castle is lovely. The bus driver gave a short history of this as an important stronghold for 200 years.

They have an outdoor area with picnic benches and tables. You can get hot beverages and soft drinks and cakes, biscuits etc in a small shop on site.

The Ross Castle B&B is in Oldcastle County Meath and not the one in Killarney. There is a disclaimer in their website.
