It's a stunning castle, lovingly restored. The tour runs on the half hour and it's 5 euros, the presenter is massively engaging and a real delight to listen to. Have a stroll in the grounds a feel free to get a boat out to the...More

Had a lovely buggy ride through a small part of Killarney National Park to Ross Castle, on a nice summers evening. Wandered round the grounds, but impressed with the tidiness.

I did not go in this castle as I was behind two tour groups and had to leave, but I don't think I missed too much. The views from the castle of the lake are breathtaking.

A lovely castle and grounds without the crowds of blarney. Terrific for kids as there are ducks eager for a feed. Boat trips, horse and carrisges plus special woods nearby. This is lovely .....

In order to view the inside of the castle, you need to be there 45 minutes before closing time. It closes a 5:00 PM. There is a small admission charged about 5 Euro. I was not able to get inside. It looks in great shape,...More

We visited Ross Castle in the evening at around 19.00, but we did not enter and just enjoyed the beautiful view around in the park. Our recommendation: sit on one of the benches, look at the nature, the lake and the animals swimming around in...More

Not much there, and looks like whole place was recently renovated? Does overlook the lake with nice view. Good place for a picnic?

Had we skipped this visit, I would have been OK. It is situated within the Killarney National Park, which is beautiful and worth your time.

Castle grounds and lake are very scenic. There is a small coffee hut on the grounds too. From outside we were really looking forward to getting inside. Unfortunately it's only viewable by guided tour and these don't cater for very large groups... Perhaps we should...More

The Ross Castle B&B is in Oldcastle County Meath and not the one in Killarney. There is a disclaimer in their website.

No problems taking your bag just to the castle. You just wander in and out as you please

There are a few in and around the castle, but to be honest it's so busy and crowed, it's not the sort of place I would stop for a picnic. Too noisy.
