Had a great time watching the sheep herding demonstration. The dogs really know their job! Our favorite part was actually getting to hold the baby sheep and sheepdog puppy before the demonstration. So cute! Fun activity for the whole family. The road to get their can be kind of tricky as I think we trimmed multiple hedges on our way... More

Having read Jon Katz's books about his experience with border collies and sheep; I was thrilled to get a chance to see them in action. It was great. We were also allowed to hold some of the lambs (April visit)

Watching the Sheep being herded was one of the greatest experiences of my Ireland trip. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see it. They're very experienced in what they do there. You also got to pet the Sheep if they allowed you to and also hold a lamb. This place will definitely have a special place in my heart forever.... More

This was part of our bus tour, and the scenery alone would have made the stop worth it - soaring mountain peaks, long lush valleys, and more sheep than you could have thought possible on the sides of the steep hills, in the meadows, in the corrals ... pretty much everywhere. The guys at Kissane put on a great demonstration... More

2 years ago, on our 3 week "mini -grand tour" of Ireland, we enjoyed many places, north and south, east and west. Countryside, seashores, cliffs and cities. The afternoon we spent at Kissane farm was a glorious sunny day and was the most memorable day we spent in Ireland, for sure. Border collie dogs and sheep scampered all over hills... More

I had heard for years about sheep dogs and the job they do but seeing it in person was a once in a lifetime experience, esp. in Ireland! We also got a chance to watch they sheer sheep and they allowed time at the end for petting. Sometimes if they have babies, you can feed them!

We visited Ireland in September/October, 2016 and spent a day in Kerry where we went to the demonstration on what is very much native to Ireland - Sheep Herding. This mountain farm (nearto Killarney National Park) is family owned for well over 200 years. That in itself is something to reflect on for endurance and remaining in one spot over... More

This was an interesting spot to stop. The border collies are very good at sheep herding and the farm is located in a gorgeous setting. We also watched the sheep being sheared, which gave us a sense of how much work goes into making wool. If you're not used to farm life, however, you may be put off by how... More
