Another great place to see, very close to the Spanish Arch. The swans are so beautiful and elegant. And luckily some of the local boats went out while we were there, Galway Hookers. Just a peaceful site to visit.

I have always been to Galway from being a baby. I love it! It's my home! I have always wanted, and still would like to move here one day. The atmosphere and the people around you are so lovely, especially walking down main street! There's always someone on the street, playing some sort of music! I always go with my... More

My friend and I got the bus from Eyre Square to Salthill and walked along the promenade on a cold windy November day. We decided to go into the Galway Bay Hotel for some coffees to warm us up. We sat in the bar which is rustic with a blazing fire and had Irish coffees. Lunch food was excellent. The... More

this is a great place to visit and we had a hotel right in the bay which was ideal for evening walks! The bay area has everything you need while not being too noisy, too commercialised or having lost any of its charm!

We visited Galway at the end of October. The bay is beautiful, the water looks so still and the sunlight dances off the water's surface. It really is peaceful

We took 30 days exploring Ireland countryside and were not disappointed. It's varying landscape and wonderful people made this trip well worthwhile! The self drive was a plus - we could stop where we wanted.

A wonderful place with the most famous of bays and every bit as splendid as suggested by the song. Wish we had more time to explore the whole area - will be back!

After walking Quay st and the Latin Quarter you end up at Galway Bar and the Spanish Arch. I enjoyed this a lot myself but only gave it three stars because unless you are into history and decent view it's not exactly exciting and compared to the vibe of the Quarter it may be a bit of a let down,... Galway bay is a great location with plenty of history. It is an active bay with many historic places surrounding it in a 15-minute walk. The best view is to walk across the bridge and out to the park. This is the classic photo op of Galway.

We did a quick walk by the river that leads to the bay. It was a particularly windy day so very cold however this is not the best bay promenade i've been to. Its pretty average and ends with a dumping ground that ruins the view.
