Just came back from my trip to Ireland, which is an amazing country. I visited Connemara National Park and decided to do the Upper Diamond Hill hike. Here's where the title of this review comes into play. Apparently Ireland's weather changes very frequently and with very little warning. I can see this hike being relatively hard on a clear, sunny,... More

We climbed Diamond on a brilliantly sunny day. The walk is very well laid out with walk ways over the boggy areas to keep you from getting wet. Gradual rise until you get near the top where it gets a bit tougher. Definitely worth it for the views once you get to the time. Nice facilities in the visitor center... More

Very well kept and excellently maintained. The visitors centre is very informative, the staff are friendly. My particular highlight was the nature trail, although short it is stunningly pretty and there is plenty of wildlife to be viewed in the area. This park is well worth a visit, even on a foggy overcast day I thoroughly enjoyed it!

We visited Connemara in March and it was not at all crowded. We took the medium hike and only ran into 2 other hikers on the trail. Highly recommend this hike as it was between 45 minutes to an hour (depending on how many pictures you stop for) and provided stunning views and scenery. We enjoyed walking through the 'Irish... Walked a 7km hike and the trail is very clearly paved. The peak is a good walk up but worth it. I would recommend starting before 3:00PM because the visitor center/restroom closes at 5:30PM. Easy parking and good facilities.
