Cooper's Hill Equine offer horse riding just 1.5 miles from Galway city centre. We can organise horse riding tours to the Burren, to a Haunted Castle, or you can go cross country jumping in Connemara. You can ride to a local beach from our barn and straight into the Atlantic Ocean. We cater for all riders, first timers and the more experienced thrill seekers. Hunting holidays are organised from August to March with our local packs, plus we prepare riders for hunting in Ireland by organising hunt clinics.

I called hoping to schedule a trek at The Burren within the next couple days, and they scheduled me right in the next day. I had noted that I really wanted to ride on the beach and into the water, and they created a special ride to a different beach than they normally go to, in order to make this... More

It's easy to see why Cooper's is the place everyone recommends when you ask around for the best place to ride horses in Galway. Without doubt one of the best experiences we've had anywhere in the world - James is a legend, a real character, and he and his lovely team went above and beyond to not only make sure... More

Having been to Cooper's Hill before with my daughter I couldn't wait to go back with friends for 3 very different days of horse riding. The hardest part was choosing which of the fabulous rides to do and which to leave until next visit. On this trip we choose the beach ride, the wonderful trek to the haunted castle via... More

My husband and I wanted to go on a weekend away with a difference so we chose a horse riding vacation with Coopers Hill. We were met at the local pub (the Trappers Inn, great food, lovely atmosphere) by Ciara & James. Lovely warm people from the beginning! Off we went to start our adventure 5 minutes up the road.... Cooper's Hill offers several different sight seeing rides on lovely, well-mannered horses. Whether you're a competent rider or beginner, they can provide a fun and safe outing. Be prepared to groom your own horse, as it helps establish your riding proficiency. But if you want to experience real Irish foxhunting, this is definitely the place to go. These aren't just... We were paired with horses that matched our abilities: mine is limited and my daughter has been riding for years. Our horses, although quite young, were extremely well-trained. We had to ride through traffic, including a roundabout, to get to the beach. This was a bit nerve wracking even for my daughter, but the horses weren't phased. The horses only... More

James and Ciara were great to deal with from start to finish. They run a lovely property and have a nice stable of well maintained and well cared for horses. I was paired with Lord Frederick (Freddy) and my sister rode Sahara. We had a wonderful September afternoon ride and toured the local countryside. Unlike my sister, I had been... More

I don't know of anywhere else where you can ride beautifully trained horses though a busy city to then come out to a perfect beach. The horses loved riding through the waves, splashing up the water. And the beach was perfect for a canter across the waters edge. No matter your riding level these guys have horses to suit everyone... More
