Description:

A warm welcome always awaits in The Cellar Bar at The Merrion hotel....

A warm welcome always awaits in The Cellar Bar at The Merrion hotel. Located in the original 18th Century wine vaults, with its bare bricked walls and vaulted ceilings, The Cellar Bar is an intrinsic part of Dublin's vibrant social scene. The Cellar Bar features fifty carefully selected wines, available by the glass. Furthermore, to complement the extensive wine offering, Executive Chef, Ed Cooney, has devised mouthwatering lunch and evening menus prepared simply with plenty of Merrion style, a perfect choice when dining in Dublin.

Go Here! Great place for dinner or drinks!

Great bar below the Merrion hotel. Dinner selection isn't huge, but it has a lot of good options and everything I had was great. The service was also exceptional! The overall layout of the bar was really interesting, with a typical bar room, but little nooks where small groups could sit and drink/eat with a little privacy. I was there... More

We were invited by friends to dinner in the Cellar Restaurant and enjoyed great ambiance and food. Very relaxed feel to the place; we shared a bottle of prosecco in the bar before going to the restaurant and repaired back to the bar afterwards. Food and service was top class. For the high standards, the A La Carte menu is... More

As you can see I am a Level 6 contributor and most on restaurant reviews with most of them satisfactory BUT NOT THIS TIME FOR THE CELLAR BAR RESTAURANT( Not the bar itself but the restaurant ). I realise it was Easter weekend but that's no excuse for the failures on the night. Waited 20 miutes for the wine to... More

We decided more or less spontaneous that we wanted to have Sunday brunch at the Cellar Bar at the Merrion Hotel in the heart of Dublin and reserved a table for two the evening before having the meal. Most time slots were already gone, so we took the one at 14.00 hours. We were also advised that we had to... More

We had a beautiful meal in the Cellar Restaurant for our anniversary. I have had a number of meals here in the past, but this was by far the best. The staff were very polite and friendly, but still very professional. There is a great atmosphere to the place and we were serenaded by a female trio. We both had... More

This is a fantastic place to unwind that first night in Dublin when you are tired and just want quality food, quietly and elegantly prepared and served. Delicious and relaxing. A great spot.

Having no booking for a party of 8 on a busy Saturday night was not the ideal start but the way we were welcomed and looked after by David will long stay in our memories. Fantastic food and service along with a great warm atmosphere made this a very special evening.

Went here for lunch with two friends. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The menu was quite varied and not outrageously priced. One could have Soup and a sandwich if preferred. The bar/ restaurant is in the cellars of the Georgian houses that make up the Merrion hotel. Little nooks make it cosy and restful. The food was lovely and... More

Thank you to all the staff at the Cellar Bar for the FANTASTIC afternoon. We had such a lovely time celebrating our engagement and my birthday with family. Thank you to Peter for accommodating our party of seven in the lovely reserved room. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The surprise "Congratulations" dessert at the end of... So last night myself and two others went into the Cellar bar after having had dinner on Merrion Row, all the other bars nearby were packed so we wanted to go somewhere quieter so we could chat. We have all been in the Merrion before for drinks or afternoon tea and have always been impressed with the service. Not last... More
