Description:

A warm welcome always awaits in The Cellar Bar at The Merrion hotel....

A warm welcome always awaits in The Cellar Bar at The Merrion hotel. Located in the original 18th Century wine vaults, with its bare bricked walls and vaulted ceilings, The Cellar Bar is an intrinsic part of Dublin's vibrant social scene. The Cellar Bar features fifty carefully selected wines, available by the glass. Furthermore, to complement the extensive wine offering, Executive Chef, Ed Cooney, has devised mouthwatering lunch and evening menus prepared simply with plenty of Merrion style, a perfect choice when dining in Dublin.

This is a real treat, great location close to Stephen's Green but offers a relaxing atmosphere. Food is very good, if you like red ale, try the Monck House. Great selection of cocktails also available. The barman called Gustaf looked after us very well with friendly and excellent service.

We wanted somewhere out of the way but still a stone's throw from Dublin City centre. And we wanted quirky. We found it in The Cellar Bar. A beautiful bar in the evening. During the day it suffers from politicians and the upper echelon civil servants. Once they are dispatched home or wherever, the bar really relaxes and eases into... More

We visited the Cellar Bar early in December on a Saturday Evening. this is the second time we have been invited to a gathering here and we were impressed both times. We have a reserved area, both times we were served with delightful finger food, mini burgers, prawns, etc great food, great atmosphere, lovely place for a gathering of friends.

Dropped in for some pre dinner drinks. David served us, he was very friendly and helpful. I always like to have a drink here as the staff are friendly. Price for a pint is roughly 6 euros. A cocktail is around 15. Peter the barman is fantastic at making cocktails.

Love the venue - nice formal atmosphere. Good kids options but pricey. Best glass of house wine in Dublin! Food is a little below par. Burger was dry. Pumpkin salad very fresh, but a bit tasteless. Sorbet and ice cream selection disappointing - lacked flavour. Good coffee but long wait for desserts and coffee was long gone before they arrived.

Not a place for a stag night party but more for a pre meal drink with your lady love or somewhere to take your parents for a quite night out! The Cellar Bar is a cavernous calm (on the night we went) sophisticated sub-terranean bar with loads of different rooms, nooks & crannies, all of them being warm & inviting.... More

Got here early for lunch and had good service and good food. I had the super salad which was great and my gf have the soup and sandwich. The surroundings are nice, lots of wine if you fancy a tipple. All in all good lunch venue but not the cheapest you'll, ideal for a special treat.

I went there for drinks with a friend at Christmas time. Loved the decor. Feels like you are in a wine cellar. As part of the Merrion Hotel, you can always expect classy decor for the holidays as well.
