This humongous spike set in O' Connell street made from stainless steel is visable across most of Dublin. Can't see the point of it, ( it's too tall.)

It's just a large spire. I wouldn't make a special trip to see it, but if you're in the area I wouldn't miss it.

Saw this on Connell Street near Penneys. Was unsure what it was and it us impressive but do not see the real point if it.

A 120-something metres high spire. Made out of stainless steel, this spire, a monument of light, stands tall and visible to almost all of Dublin. However, when asked about it's reason to be constructed, the hostel host simply said: Tis a pointless spire, tho it...More

It's very easy to spot and would be a good meeting spot for groups of tourists. It is also an excellent pin point to popular shopping streets and social spots close by.

360 foot plain silver needle built to celebrate the millennium. Popular meeting point especially for the free walking tours. Located in O’Connell street. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

We saw this monument first from our nearby hotel room and couldn't quite conceive of what or why it is. It was so tall (almost 400') that we had to seek it out on our walk around Dublin the next day. It is pretty impressive,...More

Worth visiting, hugely impressive and a credit to Dublin and Ireland. The rest of the City is also well worth visiting, so spend time winding through Dublin's streets and visiting its varied sites and attractions.

Very tall spire in the middle of the street in North dublin. Can be seen for miles. I thought that there might be some inscription, but just an artistic etching in the polished base.

A spectacular monument that peaks your interest. I am not sure of its purpose, but it is fun to look at...

It was built of 6 separate sections which were manufactured elsewhere and assembled on site. It's around 120 metres high and built of stainless steel. It's also called the Monument of Light
