Great tour, however the tourguide Fiona was rubbish. Nice rooms with lots of decorations. Not worth 10 euros but free if you get the Dublin bustour

Great little museum with enthusiastic guides, plenty to see and opposite the St Stephen’s Green. I recommend the 11am tour which includes a guided tour of the green as well.

We went to this museum mainly to see the U2 room -- but learned a little about the history of Ireland in the process. The displays of artifacts are eclectic and varied. The tour guide was informative and kept our attention. Enjoyed having time to...More

I loved this little museum. The half-hour guided tour by Andrew was fantastic! Lots of humor yet still learned a great deal about both lighthearted and serious aspects of Dublin’s history over the past several decades. The old Georgian building in which it’s housed is...More

This is really worth doing. It is quite short but hugely informative. Our guide Jesse really hit the right combination of information, whimsy and humour. There is a lot to see in this little museum and the tour gives a good narrative to the visit

Delightful museum, absolutely crammed with pieces of Dublin's history. The guide, Fionnaula, was engaging, interesting, included everyone in the group and made it so much fun.

The tour lasts about 45 minutes however would allow a further 30 minutes to look round the other rooms. Hope you enjoy 😊

Hi Angela Regarding your response to my review - I'm delighted to hear that there is a Women's History tour of the museum and I look forward to taking it. I don't agree with your characterisation of my review as pointed, as I believe my observations were made fairly and in good faith. Perhaps if elements of the women's history were incorporated into the main tour, it would have changed my description of it as not giving due representation to the contribution of one half of the population in our people's history. Regarding your point about the 'reality' of history being safely described as male dominated - while I don't disagree, given that it reflects a patriarchal power structure, I do believe this places all the more onus on those curating it to bring to bear those elements that exist of women's role and experience, in literature, politics, and indeed domestic life and the life of family, which is equally 'real' history. My point about the tale of the 'contraceptive train' is not that it wasn't represented - I saw what it was - but that it would make an interesting part of the tour narrative.
