- Lynsey PPontyclun, United Kingdom162 contributionsDelicious foods, best breakfast in Dublin, great mimosas for breakfast and a perfect pint! Highly recommendAbsolutely fantastic Irish pub. Great music in the evening and fantastic Irish breakfast - best in Dublin in our opinion. We had a great welcome and fantastic service. Really enjoyed. We were staying literally around the corner in the Stay city apartments so could just stumble home after a few in here! Stumbled back for breakfast.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 January 2024
- markgreensmith61Wirral, United Kingdom136 contributionsNice mealWe called into Slatterys Bar at lunch time for a rest from the walking, a drink and some lunch. We were met at the door by a lovely young lady whom showed us a a nice table, the drinks and the food arrived promptly. The club sandwich was excellent followed by a pint of Guinness.. If you’re passing then call inVisited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 29 January 2024
- westhead63251 contributionsProper Irish PubWe had a great saturday night in Slatterys, soaking up the atmosphere, listening to the live music, having an enjoyable meal which was nicely washed down by some Smithwicks & some Guinness. We enjoyed it so much that upon finding out that it was a good "football pub" we returned again on the Sunday to watch the football. Again the atmosphere was great & very friendly, as we got chatting to some locals. We found the staff chatty & friendly & overall a really nice traditional Irish Pub.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 May 2024
- SynyardSt. John's, Canada15 contributionsGreat Pub!Wonderful neighborhood pub! Thomas and Leah were fantastic and made us feel like a part of the family! Our first experience was so terrific we went back 3 more times! The food is delicious, pints are frosty cold and atmosphere is 10/10! Will definitely visit again the next time we come to Dublin. Thanks for helping make our holiday fantastic!Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 August 2024
- ghooper855Dublin, Ireland12 contributionsbusy pub in centre of Capel streetBeen a while since I had been to Slattery's and was pleasantly surprised, The majority of staff were super friendly and helpful particularly the girls Carol and Ally who were such a delight, a few of the other girls could do with trying to be a little bit more friendly and a bit less chatty amongst themselves but no one appeared to be rude intentionally. The bartender Brett was also very attentive and even when the place got busy he kept an eye out to see we needed anything. The breakfast is always good here and ideal for soaking up those early morning pints. drink may be on the expensive side but this is becoming the norm in the city centre, The place could do with a bit of a spring clean, particularly the toilets but when not busy the staff were cleaning areas and with the amount of whisky bottles and Irish memorabilia on display I suspect it's a constant battle in this busy place.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 18 August 2024

As I sit here thinking about how I was treated earlier in my capital city I am saddened and disgusted. As a person who have served this country for 35 years in 7 government departments to be told by a young foreign girl that I could not be served as I was wearing o'neills (irish company) track suit bottoms and runners. On an all ireland hurling semi final weekend ,how was I expected to be dressed in a 3 piece suit! Slatterys Pub you should be ashamed of yourselves the way you treat the Irish working man, I will never dart on your door again , ye were grateful of my custom in the past when i frequented wearing runners etc however the decor in this pub hasn't changed, Shame on ye.

Went to this pub after shopping. Ordered a pint of GUINNESS. It was brought down to me in 30 seconds when I said that l don't want that the reply was way its only been laying for 2 minutes bye a rude Irish staff member. Don't go to this place rude staff watching you and making you feel very uncomfortable . No Irish hospitality and rude to costumers making gestures behaviour behind costumers backs. Never be back.

I went in for a pint or two after riding 400 miles for most of the day through Ireland as the pub was close to the hotel I'm staying at. Halfway through my pint I was rudely accosted by a member of staff behind the bar saying my card payment didn't go through, 10 minutes after paying, I apologised, said probably a problem my end and paid again. Thinking this to be a bit odd, I checked my Internet banking to see that I'd been charged twice. After catching the attention of the guy, explaining this and questioning it. I was told that he'd voided the last sale and I'd get the money back. I've seen no evidence of the void, despite him demanding an apology from me for questioning him. He then removed the pint I was drinking from me, threw cash for it onto the bar and again demanded an apology. I said thanks for the refund, but now you've taken the beer, you owe me two lots of a refund, asked if there was a manager to talk to instead. He became somewhat unhinged at this and bellowed that he is the manager, as if I should know this by his identical branded uniform to the rest of the staff working.
6 days later I'm yet to see a refund back to the card. Its not the €7 that's bothered me, its the blatant con being pulled here, evidenced by the extreme reaction when politely questioned about it.
To make things worse, I was walking past the pub today having completed my motorcycle tour around Ireland and spending a night at the same hotel I was at, and the same employee comes out and tells me that if I even look at the pub he'll "pull my f*ing head off"
So yeah, I'd avoid. Shame really, as the mouthful of beer I had was nice and the interior is great too. Just let down badly. Sort yourselves out guys, and sort out the refund.

When I went into the pub , which wasn’t too busy they had a problem seating me because I was alone . The waitress had to check where I could sit with another waitress , while I was still standing like an idiot at the bar . Eventually was sent upstairs . A lovely waitress made up for the 2 ladies downstairs . I had a glass of lukewarm white wine and the most bland roast beef dinner I’ve ever tasted . Wish they had told me to leave ( to find a friend ) when I was downstairs . Will not be back .

I am by no means a connoisseur, but I do know a good(a bad, or average) pint of Guinness.
Last week I stumbled across this great pub.
First of all the relaxed friendly atmosphere was apparent as soon as I entered.
Lovely traditional layout inside, with bar staff who actually smile.
Options for sitting outside (sheltered) for those who prefer.
So I ordered a pint of the black stuff, and noticed possibly 6 or 7 sat aside whilst settling.
* I would say that it did take a little longer than 'the usual' to receive mine..but boy was it worth the wait.
Hands down the BEST pint of Guinness I have ever had, and do note that some years ago, I had done the tour at St James's Gate & sampled a pint in their elevated bar(what a view of City btw) post-tour.
In fact, I enjoyed my pint here SO MUCH, I have re-booked another short stay in Dublin for middle of next week.
Cannot wait to spend another evening in the Fantastic Slattery's 🍺.
* Great things come to those who wait 🖤!

Absolutely love this place.. stay in dublin a few times a year and no visit would be complete without a visit to slatterys, love the food, pints and just the feel and vibe of the place. Was there yesterday and nothing has changed in that regard.
In all the years coming here I've never had an issue with anything. Highly recommend slatterys for a snack and a pint you won't be disappointed.

Food good, beer good, service slow but busy, but dress code is very f’n poor.
You can wear hoodies, you can wear holes in your pants, But walking in with $130 fitness pants on, and being informed that your dress style is not accepted in this establishment. Seriously, you are freaking way too concerned about attire.
This place failed my first Irish Experience on May 10th,2024.
But, we are now at ‘The Oliver Street Gogarty’ and this place is feeling way more comfortable. People are accepted for who they are here.
Sorry Slattery, you failed to provide a good rememberable experience.
I know it’s not personal, but please put a sign outside stating your bias.
No decent dressed individuals showered. Hostess wear holey pants, but customers can’t wear fitness clothes.
