Step back in time

Staff were very nice, the stew was quiet good, served with bread and butter. I would return. Bathroom very old fashioned but in keeping with rest add loved separate taps :-)

Went here for a pint on a stag do, sampled their stew they have on the bar (best in Dublin) it didn't disappoint, was so good we went back for lunch then next day. Great staff and great beer.

Steeped in age, and Irish tradition, this is one of the many traditional bars in Dublin. We visited the bar ten years previous and I'm pleased to say it had not noticeably changed. There was a comedy event planned for Monday evening which we regretted not being able to attend. Should I ever move to Dublin this the pub I... More

Called here for a quick beer, ended up staying for a couple of hours. Really good laugh and made to feel welcome. Made friends with other punters quickly and played some good bar "mind" games. Even managed to re charge my phone , drained from too much google mapping !! Would recommend for a friendly pint or two and will... More

Popped in here for a quick feed before our flight home after wandering around the shopping areas. Absolute hidden gem! Proper cosy and Irish locals pub. Great pint and reasonable prices. Everyone was very very friendly and welcoming especially the barman, and the stew was delicious! Homemade, tasty, hearty stew and soda bread with a pint, perfect way to end... More

This is an old style Dublin bar-a long thin bar-door at each end. It was very full when we visited-we were made welcome. A good stop-off from the shopping to mix with the locals.

Have not tried the comedy night here, just the bar. If your idea of an Irish pub is a small cosy one with stools at the bar, 13 taps of Irish beer (including the inevitable Guinness) and Irish stew; guess what! Prices are what you expect in central Dublin; €5 for Guinness, €6.50 for Irish stew. Also sells my current... More

I spent 5 hours here on New Year's Eve and know I wouldn't want to be any where else. The staff is very friendly and always wanting to talk no matter how busy it is. It does get a little crowed when the comedy club opens but it just adds to the charm. The bartender is also the owner and... More

We were supposed to go to Sean Lock this weekend but he unfortunately cancelled his tour in Dublin. We decided to try and find a comedy club. I'm so glad we did, it was 10 euro in and the show lasted about 2 hours. Great craic was had and even though we were standing we had a good view. Will... More
