Yesterday, I visited the special place that is the Dillon Garden. It was my third visit. The garden colours are uplifting and the plant combinations and garden design are inspiring.

Paid for a taxi to take us to these gardens. Then paid 5 euros each to look round. Then paid for a bus back into the centre. Although larger than our own gardens at home certainly nothing special and it makes me wonder if we should charge for the public to look round our garden! It felt like we were... More

This is my 5th visit to the wonderful Dillon garden but I really had to experience the thrill of visiting the garden for the last time since I heard of the sale of the house. When I saw a local garden club travelling there on a Sunday I was off. I suppose I really took in the selection of plants in... More

A famous garden that we've been wanting to see for years. It more than lived up to expectations. A remarkable, unique, very personal garden, and Helen is a very welcoming and informative host. Greatly inspiring. Sadly, the property has been sold and the garden will be closing at the end of this year. So see it soon if you want... More

The Dillon Garden is only open Sunday afternoons, but email or call ahead to confirm - it's a family residence and the famous Helen is sometimes away, as she was when we visited. Her husband greeted us at the door, accepted our 10 euro fee and set us loose. Very intimate spaces, heavily planted, lots of ideas for gardeners. I... More

Our quiet escape to Helen Dillon's Garden left us breathless. Colorful garden so perfectly planned with a natural vision, this garden allows visitors to experience nature at its best. With a guided tour, we were able to learn more about the features of the fascinating cultivation of this garden by the famed Helen Dillon. Certainly, it would take years to... More

I walked up to the front door, admiring the forest grove planting. On ringing the doorbell I was admitted by the dapper Mr. Dillon. I was ushered into a rather splendid drawing room and after a brief chat, shown the steps into the garden. The garden was in full spring mode with the new growth bursting out everywhere. There in... Check the website http://www.dillongarden.com to confirm open hours, this walled garden is worth the detour. We were there in mid-September and the beds were filled with plants in bloom. This is a garden to savor, Mrs. Dillon's selection of plants is impressive. As a previous reviewer points out, I'm not sure I'd take small children here unless they were patient... More
