What with the BIG hotel and the gardens this should be special in Dublin but it is not really! Pavements get crowded and good food and drink is not thick on the ground. Tourist Central?

Merrion Square is a lovely well-maintained park with sculptures and beautiful flora. It is a great place to enjoy some downtime relaxing and people watching. Strike up a conversation with locals while sitting on the benches and soaking in the scenery. There is wonderful playground in the park, so making it a great destination for the whole family. We bought... More

Merrion square and the surrounding area is a really lovely part of the city. It's a nice park, not too big but still lovely all the same with lots of benches and places to sit. It's safe and a good area. I love the old Georgian buildings around here and the fact that they are actually well maintained unlike many... More

Merrion Square is a good place to get off the bus from the airport if, like me, you arrive early in the day and want to see several places. From here you can walk to the National Gallery, the archaeological museum (fantastic), the Nat'l Library, Trinity College, and much else.

This was not a place that was on our agenda for the day. We were just walking from one destination to the other when we came across this park. It has the most peaceful spots and very beautiful areas in this park period I am very glad that we stopped in and walked around it all. This is a must-see.

This is a nice park right in the city centre. It is not as big as the St. Stephens green yet provides another green space within the city centre.

A much quieter alternative to the bustling St Stephen's. There is a fantastic themed playground for younger children linked to the Oscar Wilde tribute also in the park. We visited on a Sunday and there were artists' stalls set up along the pavement on the north perimeter. Definitely worth a visit.

Maybe it helps that the sun is out and the flowers are blooming. Lovely oasis. Nice children's playground area. Surrounded by old townhouses. On the north side, the parliament. Many good pubs in the area.
