A relaxed stroll through the cobbled walkways of Trinity College leads on to the imposing Old Library. Here an esoteric array of exhibits is on display, from which lots of fascinating facts and insights can be gleaned. The highlight, of course, is the Book of Kelly's.This ornately designed manuscript contains the four Gospels in Latin, and was compiled (it is... More

Definitely worth the time. Lots of good information and great displays. The actual Book of Kells was smaller than I thought, just like the Mona Lisa is. But nonetheless it's very impressive.

Don't miss the chance to visit the library in Trinity College Dublin to see the Book of Kells. The illustrations have inspired many and steeped in historical significance. Check for opening times and entry requirements.

Went here after begin told that it was the set of the Harry Potter library.. ended up being the set from the Star Wars movie so went along with it.. Was a good experience if you like art but it went fast and got boring.. it is not cheap to visit but something to do to pass the time. You... More

Suggest getting there early. A nice exhibit leads to the Book itself, which is an incredible masterpiece for its time. Tour continues through Long Hall. Wow. If you love books, this is heaven.

Beautiful display-the colors are still vivid. I remember reading that they turn one page a month I believe, so that no one page gets more light exposure than another.

Very informative display on the Book of Kells, which is almost an anti-climax when you get there, but the real star is the long library upstairs, which gives a fascinating insight to early seats of learning - and is so beautiful.

First of all, it was an amazing surprise to have such a nice exhibition at TCD. I usually need to go to the Museum because of my work and in one of the visits I manage to visit the Book of Kells and the Library. The building is just amazing, both inside as outside, and entering the library makes you... More

This was definitely a trip highlight for me. I am sure being a recent government and political philosophy major at a Catholic college helped but I found the library to be absolutely amazing and the ancient text and illustrations of the book of Kells to be awe inspiring.

The Old Library is every book lover's dream! It comes at the end of the tour, so you'll have to go through the exhibition about the Book of Kells first. The Book itself is pretty impressive but you can only see 2 pages. All the information and artefacts around it are really interesting if you are into this. Don't do... More
