The church is beautiful and a page out of the 1700s. The crypts are spooky and surreal; guide was a nice fellow that gave a theatrical tour.

This place was recommended me by a doctor in Scotland and it didn't disappoint. A beautiful old church with many secrets, the best being the mummified remains of Irish heroes in the crypt below. Very creepy but well worth the visit.
My visit to St Michan's left a lot to be desired. We were greeted by a friendly guide, who interacted well with all members of the tour group. While it was really interesting and a strangely ominous experience seeing those mummified remains. There was a...More

This was something I'll never forget! I can't believe we were actually sanding within inches of coffins and mummies with no barrier except an iron gate! It was spooky in the middle of the afternoon, I could never go down there at night. Great tour...More
We weren't expecting to have such a fun tour guide! He was so knowledgeable and kept us laughing down in the crypts! Very interesting place. Glad we went.
The draw of St. Michan's is the guided crypt tour, and it is definitely worth it for the guide alone! The tour was informative and entertaining, although probably not recommended for the squeamish/claustrophobic as the entrance to the crypts themselves are a bit of a...More
