Christ Church Cathedral is one of Dublin's oldest buildings, a leading visitor attraction and a place of pilgrimage for almost 1,000 years. Famous for its breathtaking beauty, magnificent architectural features and wonderful floor tiles, Christ Church is also popular as a venue and is host to many high profile concerts throughout the year. It is home to the tomb of Strongbow, leader of the Normans, who captured Dublin in 1170. The Medieval Crypt, one of the largest in Britain and Ireland, extends under the entire Cathedral and contains The Mummified cat and rat, trapped in the organ in the 1860s. Guided tours, including the belfry, available up to five times a day Monday to Saturday.

You need to be prepared to walk and climb stairs to visit this site. No longer a church but still a testament to the dedication of those who built and maintain it.

One of the things on the 'to see' list of Dublin. Casual walk to the cathedral and you are struck by the size and beauty of it. Go downstairs to the crypt while you are there as there are quite a lot of different things...More

Very impressive building, and a very helpful staff. Lot of information here. The catacombs were especially interesting.

I toured three different churches in Dublin, including St. Patrick's and Christ Church was by far my favorite. The crypt is fascinating! The church and the grounds are lovely.

It is a beautiful cathedral. Not only the building but also the collections in the crypt. Short but well done video tells the history of the place, from the beginning up to date. I don't know if it was a one day occasion or more,...More

Both with Dublinia this place is a must see for Dublin's visitors. Historical and architectural eye catching place, especially when additional exhibitions (Russian Icons in my case) are installed.

This is a beautiful cathedral. I would recommend going downstairs to the crypt while you are there. They have a variety of artifacts down there to see. The admission price is a big part of how it is possible to maintain a beautiful old building...More

Expensive if you just do the cathedral. Small inside compared to most cathedrals. Most impressed with the crypt but even then, not much information on what you can see or the architecture. Nicer from the outside and not sure how much more we learned by...More

We decided not to go inside when we saw the price. Attraction or not, it is still a church, and quite a small one, so we decided to go to St. Patrick's instead.

Hi. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We'll try to get it fixed as soon as possible. You can buy all of our tickets at the welcome desk, and at this time of year you shouldn't encounter a very long queue. Ruairi
