Overview
More
Christ Church Cathedral is one of Dublin's oldest buildings, a leading visitor attraction and a place of pilgrimage for almost 1,000 years. Famous for its breathtaking beauty, magnificent architectural features and wonderful floor tiles, Christ Church is also popular as a venue and is host to many high profile concerts throughout the year. It is home to the tomb of Strongbow, leader of the Normans, who captured Dublin in 1170. The Medieval Crypt, one of the largest in Britain and Ireland, extends under the entire Cathedral and contains The Mummified cat and rat, trapped in the organ in the 1860s. Guided tours, including the belfry, available up to five times a day Monday to Saturday.

Another beautiful and historic place in Dublin. The Charter House foundation next to the church dates from the 1100s. The church is especially beautiful when it is lit up at night.

Unique in that it has a bridge over the street and the stain glass is so well lit. We stayed for a prayer service. Every Cathedral in Europe is beautiful and sad. Millions of dollars to build and maintain and staff and 50 people actually...More

Absolutely stunning building. Pictures do no do justice. The building is within walking distance from river Liffey. It is across from the Dublinia. This a picturesque place and you even catch a horse drawn carriage driving by.

Christ Church Cathedral is a beautiful old building with interesting niches, especially in the crypt. Connected to the Cathedral is the viking museum--lots of historical background info on Dublin.

This building is absolutely amazing. We loved the arch across the roadway. This is a gem in Dublin! It was very difficult to get a picture of the entire thing since it is so large.

Christ Church Cathedral is covered by the Dublin Pass, but I would have paid double the admission price for the privilege of experiencing this beautiful cathedral. I was overwhelmed upon entering by the brilliance of numerous stained glass windows, the nave, altar, and even the...More

Hi. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We'll try to get it fixed as soon as possible. You can buy all of our tickets at the welcome desk, and at this time of year you shouldn't encounter a very long queue. Ruairi
