- PeetKesSchipluiden, The Netherlands14 contributionsDefinitely worth a visit when in DublinOn the last day of our Dublin city trip we went to the Windmill Studios for a tour. This was an excellent choice! The tour was supposed to last 60 minutes but it was so interesting it ran over for more than 40 minutes. Our guide was very entertaining and we could relate to his stories on the early days as U2 was one of our favorites in those days. Afterwards we went for drinks and food just across the bridge.Thank you for your review! We really appreciate it; it's brilliant to get feedback from our visitors. So glad to hear you enjoyed your experience with us here at Windmill Lane. We pride ourselves on ensuring visitors get a thorough insight into how a recording studio operates, in addition to sharing stories of the many great artists who have recorded here over the years- U2 included of course! Glad you got to experience some of the delights Grand Canal has to offer following your visit- we're fortunate to be located so close by! - Mrmjfox7 contributionsFantastic and alternative place to visitHad a great time. I was looking for an alternative thing to do while my family were here visiting from London. Met my expectations and much more. Took down a music memory land and learned a heap about sound production. Maeve, our tour guide, was both interested in ensuring we had a great experience and funny to boot. Loved the way it was an interactive experience from beginning to end. Both nostalgic and contemporary in its history current impact for musicians and the industry.Aw thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We do our best to strike a balance between the historical and more technical aspects of what we do here at Windmill Lane, great to hear it comes across. And glad we lived up to expectation! It was a pleasure having you and your family on the tour, its the visitors (and willing volunteers for the demonstrations!) that make the tour shine.Written 9 December 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 December 2023

- NomisreltubBath, United Kingdom4 contributionsGreat! This was a thoroughly enjoyable tour, the staff were very friendly. Maeve was very knowledgeable, good fun and clearly loved being part of it all. It was great that two of our party could have a go on a digital mixing desk, we could sit by the iconic analogue and the presentation at the end was intriguing. To top it off, the tip from Louis of a visit to The Cobblestones in the evening for top quality live music was spot on. Thank you.Ah so glad you enjoyed your experience with us here at the studio and that our recommendations worked out! You guys were a pleasure to have on the tour. A must experience for music lovers. You will learn more about the genius sound engineers behind the great bands and musicians. You will get to see and play with multiple recording consoles. I highly recommend it specially for those gray/rainy days

I am so late giving this review, but I had such an excellent experience I had to share my thoughts. I took the tour on St. Patrick's Day and ended up being the only person on the tour (I am attributing this to the fact that others were probably in the pubs or at the St. Patrick's Day festival). My tour guide was very knowledgeable, kind, and went out of her way to make sure I had a good time. Being in such a legendary recording studio and getting a one-on-one tour was such a memorable experience. Perfect tour for a music nerd like myself. Everyone at Windmill is so friendly and professional. Could not recommend enough.

Recording and mixing albums, movies, commercials, etc. is really interesting. The tour uses a guide (we loved Maria), video, headphones, and even some participant use of a mixing board. Oh, and stories of famous people too.

It was an amazing tour! Aidan has guided us during the studio tour. He has a deep knowledge about mixing music and music technology. Also he explained us some interesting experiences with the most famous artists who registered there like U2, Lady Gaga, Ed Sherran, Deep Purple, Rolling Stones, etc. He was very kind with us and dedicated much more time to the tour than expectef. A different view if you love music.

We, a group of 7 musicfanatics from Holland, had a fantastic experience visiting the Windmill Lane Recording Studios. Guided by (the very famous) Maria we were introduced to the recording process and learned about the history of the studios. We certainly recommend visiting the studios!

No it is a guided tour that you get - you can buzz/pop your head in to ask what is included/what the price is etc - honestly it is worth the fee if you have the slightest interest in music.
