We arrived in Davy Byrne's really hungry. We both ordered bangers and mash. I ordered a white wine which was ice cold really dry and the waiter found out the name of it for me Peter Lehmann's Australian chardonnay. My husband ordered a pint of Guinness which was divine...like velvet. Our dinner arrived and it was gorgeous really tasty. The... More

This bar was the best we found in Dublin by a long way. Fine meals from a menu which changed daily. Fabulous staff, good food, no Irish music to drive you up the wall, some local history and a touch of Art Deco. Not to mention Murphy's Irish Red Ale mmmmm. We absolutely loved the place.

We visited this Pub in Early April 2016 and were impressed with the staff. Very warm and welcoming. Also must mention that the Local folks were so very nice. We met a lady named Margaret who was in town for the day and she was so sweet we bought her a bouquet of Lavender Tulips to show our appreciation of... More

During our day in Dublin our tour guide recommended Davy Byrnes as a good pub for lunch. They had a nice selection of beers and wines by the glass as expected. My wife had a huge salad (too big for her to finish) which she said was very fresh. I had the open Smoked Salmon sandwich which I enjoyed. The... More

It was a rainy day in Dublin - What a surprise LOL - and we were looking for a place for lunch. A very distinguished gentleman was standing in the doorway of Davy Byrnes and the first thing I noticed was that he did not aggressively approach us as we perused the menu but he did welcome us warmly as... Spent the first night of our weekend in Dublin in this pub. Was made to feel really welcome (unlike some other places we visited). The menu was varied and reasonably priced - we both had the Irish special which was very tasty. Sat around the back of the restaurant away from the bar but were served at our table the... More

Called in for dinner yesterday evening and were told we could not stay as we had a pram and the area we were about to sit in was too small. There was plenty of room where we were at a high counter and would not have been disturbing any other patrons. You should have a massive sign displayed outside stating... More
