- Victoria168 contributionsDublin's main shopping streetCame here for the atmosphere rather than the shopping. The best time to come is during the day, when the shops are open, although it always seems to be busy. Buskers - some of them quite good - add to the festive atmosphere. Pedestrians only, so you don't have to worry about cars (but you do have to watch out for the occasional cyclist). Right near Trinity College.Visited January 2023Written 1 February 2023

If you enjoy shopping or street entertainers, Grafton Street will be a place you need to hit. There are a lot of high end stores on the street, and a few souvenir places as well. LOTS of people. But it's an easy walk and something you should see if you're in Dublin.

Probably the best street in Dublin to walk around for shopping and getting something to eat.
Good street to base yourself around exploring Dublin.
Street was close to my hotel and enjoyed walking up and down and exploring all the different precincts.

A wonderful shopping district with an amazing selection of shops and an incredible department store. The street itself is vibrant fun with all of the talented (some downright awesome) street singers.

Practically all of the side streets have what You are looking for in abundance. Half way down ( from Stephen's Green) on the Left hand side is a narrow side street leading to The Powerscourt centre. I think You will enjoy it there.
Happy shopping/drinking ^__^

I do not recall any fabric shops on Grafton St. O'Callaghan Hotel Davenport is a great hotel, centrally located and walking distance to many places including Trinity College and many restaurants. The staff are wonderful.

When we were there the shops shut by 6pm. Parking is hard to find as it is very competitive. The shops are busy and i would recommend to get your shopping done during the day. Even the little stores close early.

I've heard there's a department store in Dublin centre that has/used to have benches inside which had leprechauns on them. Can anyone tell me which one it is as I'm struggling to find it? thanks

Leprechauns are everywhere in Ireland. The problem is that they are invisible unless you know how to see them. Try a drop of uisce beatha, or a couple of pints of Guinness. That helps.

Doesn't seem like much street parking and the streets around are busy with tourists. Would recommend you ask the tourist information office. As the above person said there is a car park in the St Stephen's Green Centre. Good Luck!

What is Grafton Street like on Sundays: during the day, evening, and night? Are the business hours shorter on Sundays or not, more or less entertainment on Sundays?

I was there in the summer, but it was very busy during the day (and the weather was lovely!)
