    Beautiful cathedral
The cathedrals in Europe are stunning and beautiful. We did not have time to enter since it was closing within half an hour and didn't want to rush our visit, but the outside is lovely. The garden next to the cathedral is very pretty. Christ Church Cathedral is close by, which we entered. Another stunning beauty.
Hi Katherine. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and we hope that next time you'll be able to visit and see the amazing gothic architecture of the largest Cathedral in Ireland from the inside. We are sure you'll be impressed. See you back soon hopefully.

    Blessed
The church is a formidable monument. Indoors one can feel the sanctity of the religion. The stained glass windows are beautiful and tell a story. St.Peters chapel is a serene sitting place for meditation. I loved the steel rubbing stations for pics of St. Patrick and others. While it is basically a church, it gives a sense of holiness and greatness while walking around the twists and turns of the aisles.
Hi DFS60. Thank you so much for your visit and for the detailed review. We are delighted to hear you felt the sanctity of religion while walking around.

    Amazingly beautiful
Simply amazing. If you are traveling with kids, there is a table for making rubbings from brass etchings. For adults, there is lots of interesting history. The cathedral is beautiful and has a small gift shop. We happened to be there when a choir group for the US was there - they put on a short concert and it was lovely. This is a stop that is worth the effort and cost.
Hi Nicole,. Thank you so much for your visit and for the great review. We're glad to hear you had such a nice experience. We often have visiting choirs and it really does add to the experience. Our education team will be delighted to hear their exhibits kept the kids entertained.

    Simply magnificent
Quite possibly the most beautiful cathedral I’ve ever seen! We were fortunate enough to have a very knowledgeable tour guide during our visit so no stone was unturned and we really felt like we learned a lot. This was a stop on our Tauck tour of Ireland.
Hi Kat. Thank you so much for your visit and for the fantastic review. We are so pleased you found the cathedral to be one of the most beautiful you have ever seen and we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the guided tour.

Beautiful & Friendly for all ages
One of the most beautiful buildings I have ever been in. It almost weighs on you, like someone is literally taking your breath away constantly. Theres also activities for everyone, such as a remembrance tree for those lost in war as well as brass plates to make crayon rubbings with (I'm not sure what that's called officially). Theres a spot set up for actual prayer as well, and a book for their prayer book. A must see, even if you're not religious.
Hi Aspen, Thank you so much for your visit and for the glowing review. We don't think we could describe ourselves as well as you have. You have summed up in one sentence exactly what we aim to provide every day and we're so glad that you had such a positive experience.

    Worth a visit inside
Worth a visit inside because of the guided tours. We visiting Christ Church as well and did their self guided audio tour. We enjoyed both but having a guided tour is always better. We learned so much.
Hi Mazda. Thank you so much for your visit and for the wonderful review. We're glad you enjoyed the guided tour. We offer them at no extra charge so the feedback is really important and we're delighted to hear it went so well.

    Beautiful Church & Historic Information
Came here on our honeymoon on a Saturday and it was fairly crowded. We did a self guided tour and there was a lot more history and information than I thought there would be. If you have the time, I would block out 90 minutes or so to slowly go through everything and see all of the beautiful ways the church is built. It's definitely worth a trip here when in Dublin. They also sell rosaries and other things if you are looking to pick up a gift for someone.
Hi Tina. Thank you so much for your visit and for the lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit and we hope you had the dream honeymoon you deserve.

    Amazing Experience
Enjoyed every moment! Since, I could go at a leisurely pace, I first took the guided tour which was excellently presented, afterwards picked up the audio player for the self-guided tour and went through again. I learned so much and am still marveling over the architecture style and beauty of it all.
Hi 514kbw, Thank you so much for visiting and for leaving such a lovely review. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed every moment and that you learned so much.

    A Beautiful Cathedral and Grounds
What a beautiful Cathedral. While Dublin is not lacking in churches, this one was very beautiful to visit. There is also a park next to it, where you can sit and enjoy the view. They have a small cafe as well, where you can get drinks, sandwiches and ice cream. There is also Wi-Fi available. The only negative that I would say about this, is that you have to pay to enter the church. While that is not unexpected, most places allow you to enter the gift shop without having to pay. I wanted to pick up an item for a friend, and the only way I could do that was to pay the fee to enter the Cathedral. I explained what I needed, but I was told there were no exceptions. Perhaps this will not be an area of concern for other people but wanted to share that experience.
Hi Flaherty, Thank you so much for visiting and for leaving a review. We're delighted to hear all your positive feedback and regret that due to the location of the gift shop being inside the cathedral itself it is unfortunately not possible to visit the gift shop without a ticket. We do however work hard each day to ensure the best possible experience for our visitors so we believe the low entry fee to be worth the visit :)

    Accessible an friendly staff.
Went here with my special needs class during summer camp and it was a great experience. First off it's wheelchair accessible which is so helpful. The staff were really friendly to my class and couldn't be more helpful. They have a lovely area for children to colour, read books and do interactive colouring. It's a beautiful cathedral and not too big so you can see everything quickly enough. It's pretty busy but my class really enjoyed their experience.
Hi Spyems, Thank you so much for visiting and for leaving such a lovely review. We're delighted to hear you found the cathedral to be a great experence and that your class enjoyed their experience. We hope to see you back soon.

This was a lovely experience. Very crowded so I suggest going as early as possible. I would recommend. We went on a very rainy day so of course it was busy.

The history and architecture are amazing. Yes, it is a tourist trap. Go more for the history than the religious experience but it is well worth visiting. Stain glass and statues are amazing

This review is of the bespoke tour called "Behind the Scenes of Saint Patrick's Cathedral" that was offered as part of the festival Culture Date with Dublin 8.

This is one of the most memorable experiences I have had on ANY cultural tour, and one I will never forget. With erudition, humour, and eloquence, Mr Clark Brydon, the cathedral's Education Officer (and also a working musician in the cathedral choir - and the Vicar of the Prebendary of Monmohenock!) guided the group so beautifully "behind the scenes" - and up into the ringing room, and up to the rafters and rooftops - of perhaps Dublin's greatest historical and architectural treasure. The gracious, multitalented, and totally delightful Mr Brydon is quite a comedian; I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. If you ever get a chance to take this very special tour with him - run, don't walk!

I absolutely loved this tour, and I am so happy and grateful that I was able to go on it. Thank you Mr Clark Brydon for such a spectacular day; St Patrick's Cathedral is extremely blessed to have you on board!

Had a spontaneous visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral while visiting Dublin. Decided last minute to tour inside, it was easy to pop online and book tickets and walk right in. Enjoyed meandering around the cathedral and reading about the rich history inside.
