Had lunch here with a friend. She had one course (trout) with a glass of wine, I had two courses (soup plus veggie option)plus glass of wine. We had a coffee each. Food was good and the service was friendly. It was a bit draughty where we were sitting but we did move there from our assigned table due to a large group nearby. Bill came to €60.00. There is a lovely view over the Liffey and some quirky pictures on the walls. Would go back.

Beautiful room and lovely autumn light so we were off to a good start. Started with asparagus very nice but could have done with more walnuts. Chorizo and tomato salad was fine but bread was soggy so could do without or different way of serving. Lamb dish best i have had in such a long time , out of this world beautiful Irish lamb served in the best jus and the peas and french beans and potatoes were all delicious will come back for that alone.

What a wonderful restaurant, beautiful food, fabulous location, great atmosphere but what topped it all was the wonderful staff and service, which even surpassed the excellent food and wine. They were totally flexible and kind to our Autistic daughter despite it being a very busy Saturday night. I could not recommend this place more highly, a wonderful Dublin welcome.

Cannot speak more highly of this restaurant. I walked in off the street, and one of the waiters very quickly found me a table upstairs with a magnificent view of the Ha’Penny Bridge. I had the cod, served with fresh vegetables, and it was delicious. I also had the famous whiskey bread and butter pudding omg it was amazing. Every member of staff I interacted with was brilliant. I have noticed that some of the more expensive restaurants in Dublin do not take bookings for solo diners, so it was lovely to be treated so well as a solo female at The Winding Stair. As they say in Ireland, ‘Fair play to you’.

My husband and I went for dinner upstairs to the pleasant dining room of The Winding Stair. The staff were helpful with ordering, reminding us that their strip sirloin steak is not the same as many US steaks. The meat was a bit tough, but everything that came with it was excellent. The desserts we had were unusual and memorable. Strawberry crumble and pear ginger cake.

Stumbled across this restaurant last evening and my what a gem it was. Nothing from the outside prepares you for the culinary delights served. This snug restaurant delights in many ways, quirky, funky, trendy. The food was acceptional. If you enjoy great food and great wine this is a place to visit when in Dublin.

The restaurant was recommended by an Irish colleague. At first glance this does not appear to be a restaurant. It was almost fully booked and we got a table at the 2nd floor of the restaurant. We had Irish charcuterie for starters, and I highly recommend it. For mains we had steaks and fish, and I certainly recommend the haddock. Perfectly cooked.
The waitor was not too attentive, but we were still very pleased with our visit.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the pre-theatre menu on a visit to Dublin. A nice and relaxed dining location in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Dublin. The service was excellent and the food spectacular. The starters were just the right size and light and full of quality flavours and ingredients. The mains were sumptuously simple yet extravagant- the ingredients being at the forefront and the desserts finished the meal perfectly.

Tried to dine here, per recommendation. Big mistake. A woman who appeared to be the hostess, was very rude to us. We ordered drinks and the cheese plate and she rudely stated that this was a full service restaurant and " didn't serve snacks." After her eye rolling, deep sighs, and clear annoyance with our presence (American) we decided to leave. Sad, we wanted to try this well recommended restaurant but this woman seemed extremely irritated by our existence.

We stumbled upon this incredible little restaurant during our last day in Dublin. We didn't know what to expect when walking up the winding stairway, and were stood open mouthed at the top! It was a beautiful little dining area, with plenty of light and incredible views over the 'Ha, Penny Bridge' and River Liffey.
We were greeted with a friendly waiter who kindly found us a table for two, despite not having made a reservation in advance (on Easter day!!). The service was of impeccable high standards and the menu and food to boot. I look forward to dining with you again on our next visit. Thank you :)
