Interesting and beautiful architecture. A real taste of an Irish city. As we walked from Patrick St. to the river, two twenty-something men who appeared to be under the influence were carrying a 72" television across the bridge and the "leader" was randomly shouting out incoherent remarks to various people on the street, all seemingly good-natured. Very entertaining. Cork in... More

We walked this street and realised how long it was. It runs through the centre of Cork and is the main shopping street, with some big department stores. One of the nicest things about walking around Cork is that you keep crossing bridges and it is a bridge that leads onto this street. On a Saturday, there were entertainers including... More

Patrick Street is one the few streets in the city not really touched by the recession. If you want to get a taste of what it used to be, look up over the shop facades. The shops are just versions of all High Street shops all over the world. There really isn't a sense of individuality. Go to the smaller... More

I really liked the curved street. So unique. It has a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants with paths leading to the English Market, Oliver Plunkett Street and many other areas. During the fall it was bustling with shoppers, local merchants and talented buskers. Enjoyed visiting this street as it was filled with energy and excitement.

We were in cork for the weekend and spent a good day walking around the city. There's a good selection of shops, all kinda of shops and all kinds of restaurants too. The foot paths are really wide too so it's great.

We stayed at Garnish House and a short walk down St Patrick's st brought you to a large variety of shops in downtown Cork. You could find something new everyday

I just absolutely love Cork/Corcaigh. Want to go on a shopping spree? Or visit the English Market? Just go down St Patrick's Street - the English market is located at Princes St near the St Patrick St/Oasis bus stop. It's all sooo close, such a good city to go by foot or bicycle, you won't even need to take the... More

Although a native of Dublin I think Cork is a city that has kept its character. The area around Patrick Street is particularly good as it has all the essential shops and of course the English Market. Restaurants abound, many of them very good. It is a city with a very human scale that is easily negotiated by every visitor.
