Killone Abbey has that deep soulful feeling you get visiting ancient ruins... It's on a lovely setting in the County Clare countryside, but it's about a mile's walk in through farm and forest. Must have been an incredible place in its time!

Easy walk on a hard track. New owners allow you to walk any time. The Abbey is atmospheric and well looked after.

We wanted to show my sister this incredible property. It was as magical as the 1st time. There were other visitors there when we were at the Abbey.

I was able to find this abbey when even locals and the concierge at my hotel didn't know if it. It's a beautiful setting and a lovely Irish Abbey.

Killone abbey is one of the great unspoiled monuments around the Ennis area. It is also near a holy well where mass is celebrated every 23rd June. a place to get away from it all for a while.

You probably would have to hire a taxi. It's a bit out of the way, and it's about a mile's walk in to the Abbey once you get to the parking spot.

it's about ten to fifteen minutes from Ennis by car. There is very little public transport in this area. The Ennis to Kilkee passes closest, twice a day, but will leave you with a good walk. having a car or cycling to it... More

I don't believe there is any practical public transport... you might be able to get a taxi from Ennis, though it would be expensive. The Abbey is about a mile's walk in from a small parking area once you get there.
