Did 2 of the walks the first day we went here, the castle walk & the rabbit island walk, both were very enjoyable & well marked so easy to follow. There were numbered markers along the way but as the info centre was closed we had no idea what we were supposed to be looking at. The next day we... More

And I say this because nothing in the woods has been touched, tidied up or added to make this place appear any better than it is. Situated just a couple of miles outside Ennis, there is a big car park and information centre with maps and guide poles to help you find your way around the many nature trails. Not... More

A very peaceful and beautiful place to walk and take in nature with the children the trees have such stunning colours at this time of year and it's perfectly layed out with plenty of walks. I really liked it as it's accessible for all levels of walkers and is very clean and safe for the children.

Total mindfulness strikes one at Dromore. The majesty of the trees, the quiet waters and the boats but most specially the sound of children laughing as they make their way through the many nature trails. Water, wind, birds, trees, honey bees, flowers, shrubs and lots and lots more. Perfect for hiking or fishing from the shore. Bliss

Ireland is a Nature Lover's Nirvana...the beauty abounds in breadth and scope. Whenever my family and I visit Clare, a pilgrimage of ours is always Dromore Wood Nature Reserve. The landscape is alluring and breathtaking and the serenity is plentiful. There are several walks throughout the reserve, each outlined based on length of hike and potential difficulty. My family loves... More

A and great place to have a leisurely walk. There is nothing arduous about it. Simple easy, relaxing and scenic. There's places to stop, benches and tables to have a picnic lunch. The lake is calm and if you have a yen to kayak, there's easy launching. There's the ruins castle to take in as well. A very nice place... More

Dromore is a beautiful woods part of the Burren National Park - with multiple trails, suitable for walking, jogging and biking about 10-15 minutes from the M18 at Crusheen. It has several long and short trails the most frequented of which would be the 'Castle trail' which takes in the castle ruin before running along Dromore lake and around a... More

Two looped walking trails, both with beautiful views of the lake. Can get a little flooded in winter and keep an eye on the time the gates close as it is a long walk back to the road. but beautiful area for families, walking the dog, a picnic or a very cold summer swim if you're brave enough!
