We heard that Smith's is the best luau on Kauai, and it's true. The family and staff are most welcoming, the grounds are gorgeous and it never felt crowded, even in the dining hall. The ceremonies, music, food and dance are all authentically Hawaiian and expertly done. After watching the show we felt that we had a better understanding of... More

The food was very good and the luau was nothing really extravagant or really story telling but we enjoyed the dancing and we felt we got a feeling of the different cultures that have influenced Kauai'.

We've been to several luau experiences in Hawaii with different people each time. This one was very enjoyable. The meal was similar to others, but it also included a guided tour around a tropical botanical garden. I thought the music and dancers were a bit more culturally aligned than some we've seen.

This is a nice luau in a nice location. You get a little tour of the gardens before dinner & show, then you get to see the imu ceremony before drinks & dinner. The buffet is plentiful & delicious. The pork is mouth watering tasty. But the chicken, fish, beef are also winners. There's lots of salads and bread as... More

We only bought tickets to the show, we didn't eat there. The show was ok. It was kind of long and boring for me. I was hoping it would have a little more flare. Luckily the tickets were cheap.

Most wonderful place for going to an all inclusive Luau & Show! Great food with mahi mahi, kalua pork, teriyaki beef, chicken adobo, poi, variety of salads, sides and a beautiful dessert station! Ride the tram thru the beautiful gardens. Great Imu Ceremony. Entertained by Hawaiian singers during dinner! Wonderful dancers showcasing the cultural influences on Hawaii! You won't regret... More

The tour around the gardens was beautiful and it was nice to see the imu ceremony. The food was delicious and the open bar was a plus! It was great to talk to other people and get to know them while eating. The performance after dinner was a little slow but it was a nice show.

We hadn't been to a luau before and had heard that they were all the same and a little campy sometimes. Our room at an island resort happened to overlook a luau earlier in our stay that seemed to corroborate this, so our expectations were somewhat low. So, we were pleasantly surprised at the entire experience at Smiths. We felt... More

Last attended this Luau 20 years ago and truly enjoyed it. But this time, my family and I were very disappointed. It is unorganized, we never even heard that the ceremony was beginning so we completely missed it. The drinks were watered down and the food just okay. The show was so cheesy and not at all like I remembered... More

Was in Kauai with family. Decided to go to a luau and was recommended the Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau. Great location, wonderful grounds. Took the tram ride around the property and our guide talked about the animals and plants on the grounds. The imu ceremony was great. Kimo Smith the emcee was wonderful and informative. The food was great. I... More
