This Luau is held at the vast Smith property located along the Wailua River. Upon arrival, you are admitted onto the property, taken on a short tram ride around the grounds, and then allowed to roam around until the festivities begin. Prior to the beginning of dinner, the IMU ceremony is held, with an announcer explaining the significance of what... More

We only bought tickets to the show, we didn't eat there. The show was ok. It was kind of long and boring for me. I was hoping it would have a little more flare. Luckily the tickets were cheap.

Most wonderful place for going to an all inclusive Luau & Show! Great food with mahi mahi, kalua pork, teriyaki beef, chicken adobo, poi, variety of salads, sides and a beautiful dessert station! Ride the tram thru the beautiful gardens. Great Imu Ceremony. Entertained by Hawaiian singers during dinner! Wonderful dancers showcasing the cultural influences on Hawaii! You won't regret... More

The tour around the gardens was beautiful and it was nice to see the imu ceremony. The food was delicious and the open bar was a plus! It was great to talk to other people and get to know them while eating. The performance after dinner was a little slow but it was a nice show.

We hadn't been to a luau before and had heard that they were all the same and a little campy sometimes. Our room at an island resort happened to overlook a luau earlier in our stay that seemed to corroborate this, so our expectations were somewhat low. So, we were pleasantly surprised at the entire experience at Smiths. We felt... More

Last attended this Luau 20 years ago and truly enjoyed it. But this time, my family and I were very disappointed. It is unorganized, we never even heard that the ceremony was beginning so we completely missed it. The drinks were watered down and the food just okay. The show was so cheesy and not at all like I remembered... More

Was in Kauai with family. Decided to go to a luau and was recommended the Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau. Great location, wonderful grounds. Took the tram ride around the property and our guide talked about the animals and plants on the grounds. The imu ceremony was great. Kimo Smith the emcee was wonderful and informative. The food was great. I... More

The Smith family Luau is so well presented, I felt honored to get a glimpse of their Hawaiian culture, tradition, and heritage. The Smiths will make you want to stay and make Kauai your own. The food is marvelous! This Luau is a must!

We went to the luau in celebration of our 30th anniversary while vacationing in Hawaii. Everything just felt very "authentic" at this luau. We enjoyed seeing the pig being lifted from the imu and the ritual of blowing the conch shells. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the family band entertaining us as we ate. The gardens are lovely... More
