Culture is at the very heart of Perth and Kinross. Artists, writers and musicians across the ages have found their inspiration here by the River Tay. Perth Museum and Art Gallery houses one of the oldest museum collections in the UK. Our changing exhibition programme explores the heritage and creativity of Perthshire - with a unique selection of art, natural history and archaeology on display to bring these stories to life. The venue also hosts contemporary touring exhibitions. A warm welcome is extended to all, with free activities in the galleries and an annual programme of events to support the exhibitions. The museum offers disabled access, parking nearby and a gift shop. We are open Monday - Saturday 10 am- 5 pm with Sunday opening April - October 10 am- 5 pm Admission is FREE.

What a great museum. Such great exhibits and so child friendly. The interaction for our grandchildren was excellent. All the areas were so full of interesting information and something for everyone. Will be back.

A lovely building but limited selection of items on display. Looks like work underway on upper floor. There must be some Victorian etc , talented, painters, sculptors, missionaries, locals with art, books , photographs, to show visitors what Perh was and is.

Generally worthwhile - mainly designed for children's interests, but excellent natural history section, and information on the origins of Perth from Neolithic times. The art work is in short supply, however. Still, it was free on the Tuesday we visited, so no complaints!

There is no doubt about it, my visit was disappointing as I found it rather small and drab, with the odd exception.. However, Perth and Kinross Council has announced a £10m investment in Perth Museum and Art Gallery, which will result in a major overhaul...More
