Housed in a superb classical style building and with various themed rooms covering a wide range of topics, the museum offers a chance to spend an hour or so enjoying artefacts on a range of subjects ,many local. and all with free admission.

Sick of trailing around shops with The Moll(AKA Mrs R...s) so visited this attraction, dateline 13/02/2019. Liked it, Quiet, Good galleries, Good interactive exhibits, Very few weans(children to those outwith Scotland). Well informed and very pleasant staff. 3 galleries with lots of info and the Margaret Morris display is excellent. Natural history section was full of kids drawing & interacting, always good to see.

Visited the fun afternoon on the 30/11/2018 with my 3 year old granddaughter - great effort by the Polish community!! - plenty to do - face painting balloon making colouring in and gingerbread decorating - good to eat as well! - plenty helpers - staff...More
