The UK doesn't know the existence of motorhome. No parking, no signs. Historical places with no parking, no advises in the explorer pass sheet. Driving for miles for nothing. Tourism in the UK is quite a nightmare

The Huntingtower Castle on the outskirts of Perth in Scotland is a nice enough castle built around the 15th century. There are though many better castles, including Scone Palace, Stirling Castle, in the area. Worth a look if you have not seen all the other...More

More of a family home than what I consider a castle however this one is a must see. There is an original painted ceiling from the 1500’s inside. You can go all the way to the top of the castle! Staff here was exceptionally friendly!

What a great, mysterious castle. And such historical significance, being graced by the kidnapped King James VI. So much to explore in this amazing building. We were the only ones there when we visited and wondered why more people don’t come out to explore these...More

You are welcomed by a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guy who obviously loves this castle. The many stairs are worth the effort as the views are amazing

I read there was an original medieval painted ceiling here. Was not disappointed. But it was also very cool exploring the castle. You can explore the whole place including the parapet - walk around on the roof! My husband really enjoyed it!

This castle stands just outside Perth and has a very good view from the roof. It is very well restored and the castle grounds are kept neat and tidy. A small castle but worth a visit. Parking is a little restricted as spaces are at...More

Huntingtower Castle has had bad luck, when environment changed: It is hidden between the A 85 and industrial estates and can easily be missed. The castle ruin has been restored minimalist but very thoughtful, so it is possible to get on the roof of the...More

A well-kept castle with an interesting painted ceiling, some quirky stories, and very nice views. You can get lost in a good way wandering around the rooms. The furniture seems a bit random at times, and it would have been nice to have a bit...More
