The journey from Inverness to Kyle is a wonderful experience and breathtakingly beautiful. Looking toward the village of Applecross across the water, with the boats moored looks idyllic. We were fortunate enough to catch a glance of an Otter playing in the water. It is the third time have taken that trip, every one of my visitors is taken on... More

We booked this as a day trip from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh. Arrived just after lunchtime and had a pleasant afternoon in Kyle. After reading other reviews we travelled on the right hand side out and the right hand side back both times facing direction of travel. This did prove to be a good choice. Fantastic scenery and fantastic... More

Day-dreaming comes true on this trail the train passed through the most fascinating way to kyle of lochalsh you'll end up cleaning your eyes again & again to make sure if its not a dream. Kyleakin the tremendous full of nature village on the body of lochalsh water and the first step to the isles of Sky. Party goers, hunky... More

This line is rightly renowned as one of the UK's most scenic. You will see mountains, lochs, villages and wildlife along the route. Counted almost a dozen deer on my last trip (not passengers, viewed from the train!). Plockton is a lovely little village. Strathcarron and the mountainous areas around Achnashellach are breaktaking. You will get great photos from the... More

Great scenery to view and relaxing on the train.Using a Spirit Of Scotland Travel Pass was great value...you can book seats in advance if you know your plans or Chance it on the day by turning up to hope for the best.We planned ours ahead a few days to get reserved seats and thoroughly enjoyed the trip

Just back from a return trip to the Kyle of Lochalsh on the Kyle Line. On the way to Kyle try and get a window seat on the right hand side (facing direction of travel) the scenery is best viewed from that side. Similarly on the way back from Kyle sit at the left hand side (facing direction of travel).... More

It was a very nice way to catch some incredible views from the Scottish Highlands. If you leave from Inverness, sea on the right side of the direction of the train to catch the best scenarios.

I travelled from Inverness to Kyle and back last week- having booked tickets in Advance (use to National Rail Enquiries website or ScotRail website), a return cost just £6.60 which for over 5 hours of travel is pretty amazing value. The journey takes about 2 1/2 hours each way and travels through amazing glens, with stunning mountain views before running... More

A comfortable train which takes in a smorgasbord of stunning scenery, as it wends it way to the Kyle of Lochalsh. Friendly staff and a good trolley service. Tea at £1.70 is great value. It's up there with the West Highland Line and The Far North Line. I was lucky enough to see deer and a stag, along with an... More
