So we were just driving buy and this ginormous metal man made spectical appeared in front of out tiresome eyes awakening them to true beauty instantaneously. I looked behind me to see two very exhausted passengers allmost sleeping half way over this big beautiful elegant bridge unfortunately for them it was to high and to steep to push the car any further but my holiday , my holiday was something special

To reach the Isle of Skye we passed the high rising bridge from the mainland. It provides a wonderful view over the left and right side of the sea to the mainland and to the island.

We stopped here on our trip from Uig to Ft. William to view the 1995 1,640’ bridge. There are 3 viewpoints with parking; The 1st is too close, the second one is very good and the 3rd was the best giving a wide angle view of the bridge and the small village on Skye.

Great views from the bridge. Only a 20 minute walk from Kyle or Kyleakin centres. Some information about construction of the bridge would be an improvement. By aware there’s no safe parking near the bridge itself. if you are driving and want to stop you’ll need to walk back from The town centre.

During a week long holiday in Plockton we crossed the bridge a few times. Firstly for a quick visit to Kyleakin which is just across the loch from Kyle of Lochalsh and then on our way to and from a day trip around Skye.

The bridge is visible from lots of different angles and locations and worth a visit if you are anywhere within 20 miles.

Certainly not worth a detour. It is after all a very simple bridge but one that leads to the magical Isle of Skye. Closes during high winds.

OK, it's a bridge. It has a pleasing form that offers spectacular views as you cross. You can't get out for picture-taking, but you can film through the car window. Connecting the mainland to the magical splendour of Skye, this makes travelling very convenient. Very pleasing!

Now free after ending of outrageous toll charge a number of years ago. You can’t stop on the bridge but my Wife told me there were some great views during the crossing of this aesthetically pleasing structure.
Worth a detour.
