We are a museum set in Cameron Square which is just off of the centre of Fort William High Street. We have eight rooms packed with fascinating objects, from treasure from a shipwrecked Spanish Armada galleon to the bagpipes played at Bannockburn in 1314. Whether its archaeology, natural history, Commando training and weaponry, Highland crofting life, costumes and charms, Victorian times, silver, coins and medals, or even the history of mountain rescue, it can all be found at the West Highland Museum.

Well laid out. The displays are very informative and give a good insight into local history. The statue outside of the gentleman sitting in his Model T Ford is a good photo opportunity.

Popped in here while walking along the high street. Free entry but do leave a donation. Particularly enjoyed the sections on the Commandos and Jacobite history. Museum spread over two floors so plenty to see.

We visited on a wet and miserable day. Were greeted by really friendly staff. Good range of exhibits. Free admission.

I visited on a particularly miserable day but was very pleasantly surprised. To pick out the highlight (for me) - look out for the reflecting toast decanters and trays, including the rude one.

I took my young son here and we had a great time. It is self guided and run on donations. It has a wealth of things to see and I was impressed with how well done it was. Definitely worth a visit.
