I could feel the history in the ground! The views, the walls, the sense of the past come alive was magical. Be sure to take a walk around!

Nice place to stop if passing the castle is nice to see but access is closed due to the age of the decaying building. Parking right at it and not busy!

Although it was not open to walk around the inside. Just getting to see the outside was delightful. I would love to have gone inside, but understand the delicate condition of the aging structure and that safety is of the utmost importance. The castle and its history just added to the charm of Fort William. We'll be back!

This is a ruin of a medieval castle built in the 1200s. Do not confuse it with the Inverlochy Castle Hotel and Restaurant that is a close 5 minute drive off the A82! This castle ruin is right by the Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre and you can park on the street and walk around the huge ruins but not through it as it is fenced off for repairs. There's some signage about its history& reparation but that's it. It makes for a nice walk overlooking River Loch and some photo ops but don't come out of your way to see this unless you are a big fan of castle ruins. The grassy area by the River is also nice for a blanket picnic.

If you head out a from Fort William along the Great Glen Way, you will come across the Castle on the outskirts of the town. The castle was under repair, but the structure is substantial and looks like it would be good to visit. It’s an easy walk along a well signposted path. You might also see the Jacobite Express.

Able to walk around and peer inside. Recommend you read up on the history first to understand what you are looking at.

Great walk along the river to see the castle. Unfortunately we could not enter due to current work, but we could see it from the outside.

Steeped in history and would be good if you could have a decent walk around but is fenced off at the moment due to work being carried out.

Lovely old castle to view but unfortunelty the barriers are up aroound the castle so you can't enter. The usual notice as with most historic Scotland sites at the moment is that they are doing repairs but as usual never anythign happening. At the moment I would go and see it if you are nearby for something else but would not make a special visit.

Its a pity that its now completely fenced off which spoils the look. It probably is very nice to visit when sorted out.
