It is an impressive looking castle, but unfortunately it is closed for renovation. At some point in the past, it had been converted into space for the local government to use, but now it is being renovated into a tourist attraction. The best view of it for a photo is from across the river by the Ness Bridge.

Pretty on the outside, but closed. We did visit the nearby Castle restaurant, good Sunday roast. We heard the Castle would be closed for a couple of years.

We had about 90 minutes to explore Inverness City Centre. We drove by the castle, which I have seen on a previous visit but our time was limited so we power shopped thru the city. There's lots to see and do here. I wanted to pick up some gifts for family and found some great goodies. There's several hotels and eateries in the center.

The best view is from the opposite river bank as even when you walk up to it is boarded up and being renovated so you can't get a view of it or anywhere else in the city.

It is a lovely castle, very imposing and the best view is from the opposite bank of the River Ness. But it is closed, Inverness is a very nothing town with little attractions and needs this castle to be refurbished as a tourist attraction.

The castle was under renovation while we were there. Would have loved to go through it. The castle is up on the hill and has a view of the area but until it is open again you won't be able to see much.

The castle is closed to the public as it is being converted from a courthouse back to a castle for visitors. Best view is from across the river further from the castle, that way you dont get the new building in your picture

The Castle is currently a building site. It is impossible to get on the grounds and all the signs send you around the circumference of the building site.

The place is closed like all of Scotland. Basket cash city with no character. Avoid at all costs ! Came here for one day to have a look around. Bad mistake which included train delays bad weather and fat food only . There are better countries to visit other than Scotland.

This is an impressive looking castle from the outside but unfortunately it is closed until 2025, when it will become a visitor attraction, as it was used by the local council until now.
I will definitely be coming back to finally got to see the inside!
