Went here because we are both book lovers. We were awe-struck as we went inside: an actual fire was roaring while stacks upon stacks of books and 2 floors' worth of book-cases filled to the brim rested in the shop. We were home. Browsed for about an hour and decided that most of the books exceeded our budget. Settled on... More

I stopped in on a rainy morning and found a cozy fire and and an inviting store. I spent over an hour browsing and contemplated buying more luggage for my journey home so that I could buy all of the treasures I found,

Marvelous place, in an old building, completely covered with books. It has a fireplace. I could spend hours there.

Leakey's in Inverness is a huge secondhand bookshop in an old chapel in Inverness. There are books everywhere, over two levels, so it would be entirely possible to spend an entire day browsing through the shop. Sadly there's no longer a café in Leakey's, but there are some seats for taking a breather and looking over prospective purchases.

Wow! One of the most beautiful bookshops I have ever been. As soon as you step in you see books everywhere, even on the floor! And the smell of old books! This bookshop is definitely a must see for every book lover!

In an old church setting, find your every interest met in maps and books from old to newer. An absolute treasure - I could have spent days in here. Came away with books recommended to me on Scottish history. Like falling through a portal to continuous curiosity ! A MUST in Inverness.

This is one of my favorite places in Inverness. I love the used books and the building. What surprised me are all of the old maps and original prints. I could spend hours here, but if you only have a few minutes, definitely stop by. Church street has many other historical buildings: Dunbar's Hospital, Old High Church. There is also... More

Step into this used bookstore and you may wonder if it inspired the wandmaker's shop in the Harry Potter novels. Set in an old church, the upper stacks can only be reached via an old spiral staircase. There is a wonderful collection of old books, some rare and some just begging to be read again, as well as intriguing antique... More

When planning our family trip to Scotland, I knew I needed to include a used book store for my sister and this fit the bill! She thoroughly enjoyed skimming the shelves for her favorite books and ended up purchasing a few Jane Austen novels.

This is a large, 2-story, used book seller in Inverness. I believe it's the largest in Scotland. Lots of books on every subject. I found it hard to find book sellers in rural Britain but this is one, Good prices. It's a little tough to find parking, use a SAt Nav (GPS) when travelling in the UK (A must).
