    Must visit in Inverness
Lovely classic deco with an unbelievable selection of second hand books. Approx treble the cost of books from a charity shop, but with some gems to be had. We spent an hour in there just browsing, could have spent longer.

    Quirky and fun
A quirky bookstore with a fun atmosphere. It was a great place to look around -- I wish I had found something to take home with me, but it was a great experience nonetheless. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to look around. Definitely worth stopping in when you're in Inverness.

Charming Bookstore— A must to visit.
Absolutely one of the best bookstores I have ever visited. It brought back the love of books for me. It is so beautiful inside and the ambiance is so relaxing. The beautiful windows to the staircase gives this bookstore its charm. A great array of books, art and tote bags.

huge selection of books at great prices
Leakey's is an institution. It is quite large and has a huge range of books at very good prices. Most of the books are on the older side. I was tempted by many books but knew that I had to consider how much I could buy without exceeding my luggage weight limits. I envy the locals that don't have that concern and come here when they want. It is at the end of the main downtown shopping street just a couple blocks from a large parking garage. My only regret is they don't have any seating at all, so I got tired and left sooner than I wanted to.

A must for book worms and fans of something different
You need to visit this store if you are one of those dinosaurs who still like books. Feels like you have stepped into another world. Even if you aren't a book fan drop in and check it out. You will be impressed by the volume of books and the quirkiness of this place.

    Great Experience
Fantastic bookshop with a vast selection of titles and topics to choose from. An old atmospheric church with log burning heating in the Centre makes it a totally unique experience. Well worth a visit!

    Magical
Stunning book shop and lovely staff. It seemed like entering a dream world full of any book you could imagine! The prints were a lovely little touch and I can't wait to go back to build my collection. :)

    Magical bookstore.
Lovely store with reasonably priced books and a helpful proprietor. Great store for people who love books and antique art prints. I bought several books from the 1940s in great condition and could have easily bought more if I had a larger backpack to truck them back to the US. One guidebook I bought on the cart & maintenance of “Your Motor-Cycle” had the original typed letter from Shell in 1929. Lovely!

    Worth a stop
Such a cool place if you love books, or old churches. Bought a book to read on vacation. Very organized and fun to browse. Had a snack at The Walrus and Corkscrew before and a walk through the Old High Church graveyard after.

Was looking forward to a visit to Leakeys and to have a peruse through some of the history books in particular. Personally I was slightly disappointed by selection and the quality of some books, but there is of course always a mix with any second hand bookstore. The bookstore itself is very atmospheric and has a lovely feel so is definitely worth a visit

Was looking forward to coming to see this place. Found it lacklustre. Overpriced books too as some books even second hand have brand new print in Waterstones.

This is such a different and lovely place to visit. Found everything from books to old pictures and maps (many more than 100 years old!) it is a must see if you are a book lover!

Loved the atmosphere. The smell of books & the wood fire were so welcoming. Quite likely the most spectacular bookstore we'll ever visit. Would highly recommend.

If this is the number one in shopping in Inverness, I think we might be gravely disappointed with shopping...The website boasts of wonderful antique books and in reality I was really disappointed. Outside the shop looks so exciting and beautiful and inside there is just piles of books lying everywhere that say do not touch and shelves full of repeats of books. We had been looking at things to do on our weekend away in Inverness and this had been mentioned time and time again online...I'm not sure why!
