Opened in 1993 by Prince Edward, Inverness Botanic Gardens, formerly Inverness Floral Hall & Gardens, are an oasis of calm and beauty within walking distance of the city centre. With each new season the outside gardens are an explosion of colour and texture, and borders are planted to demonstrate a wide variety of plants and growing conditions. The impressive glasshouses reveal the drama of plant diversity ranging from the tropical rainforests to arid, heat scorched desert.

If these gardens were located 500 meters closer to the city center, the foot traffic would be 30 times that what it is now. These gardens include both indoor and outdoor displays. The indoor displays are separated into two green houses - one for tropical...More

Pretty botanical gardens tucked away next to the leisure centre, not well sign posted, free entry just make a donation if you want, the tropical greenhouses are worth a look.

Extremely well kept gardens. Orchids in tropical house lovely. Very interesting. More signage is needed from Ness River walk as we found it difficult to find at the back of the leisure centre. Cacti also worth seeing. Because of its size it is ideal for...More

This is not a typical botanic garden. the main feature is the glass houses rather than shady lawns and trees. However these glasshouses were spectacular. With a controlled environment system they were able to grow a huge variety of plants both local and exotic. A...More

We walked the Ness Walk seeking this garden. We found many attractions in Bught Park but gave up looking for the garden. Numerous recreational facilities have been constructed at the west end of the park and perhaps it was behind one of them-not one sign.More
